Ah, Ben & Jerry's. An icy pint of heaven. How do they make it so good without all that yummy rBGH? So far from vegan, and further from "raw," but oh-so-delicious nonetheless. Tonight I noticed a typo on the ben and Jerry's container. I considered calling the press, suing, making millions (not to mention all the talk shows I could be on)...but ultimately I decided to extend B & J's a little Grace and didn't call after all. I still feel bad for all the millions of people out there hurt by them, though. I mean...all those poor, ignorant people limiting themselves drastically becasue of this. And seriously - it's costing B & J's a lot of money, I'm sure! Anyway, this is what I read on the back of the container, under the Nutrition Information:
serving size- 1/2c calories - 280 servings per container - 4
See? DO you see the typos? First of all, for the longest time I had believed that the "c" stood for "cup." But today as I finished off half a pint of the delicious, chocolatey B & J's "Phish Food," it dawned on me...why feel guilty over eating 1/2 container instead of the serving size of 1/4....the "c" stands for "container!" So there are only 2 servings per container, but I can eat them without the guilt of thinking I ate DOUBLE what I should have! Yeah! I could eat a whole pint for only 560 calories, not the 1120 I had thought before! Imagine what a difference that information could make in the lives of so, so many people!
SO you can imagine how hard it was for me not to do anything. All those poor people out there. Fooled. Believing they are gluttons for eating two servings of sweet, creamy goodness.
OK, maybe I'll write them a letter, at least...
