I just want to really thank everyone who showed me love and support thru out this mess of a contest. THE CONTEST WAS MAYHEM!!!!!!!!......If you didnt take part, you will never know what we went thru.........It was one of the hardest things I have ever been a part of (and if you REAlly Know me, thats saying a hell of alot). Anyone who was in the top 200 (out of 1200) of this contest, really put alot of work into getting there mix into there respective positions. You had to have gotten 100s of votes to just be in the top 200.  Unfortunately, this contest was more about networking than the quality of the music. At the same time, it showed alot of the musicians in the contest, that it is not just about the music anymore. You have to be willing to give up your life for exposure. Give up sleep. Give up the partying. Give up EVERYTHING. Point blank. The game has changed, and this contest was proof.  Now before anyone out there decides they want to be a "producer" or an "artist". You better think it thru very carefully. And be sure you are serious. Of course everyone "loves music". But that doesnt mean you are willing to sacrifice your life like some of us are already doing. There are alot of you out there. And you are just taking up space. Talking about how good you are and how good your song is doesnt mean anything anymore. Who gives a sh*t about your song if no one is listening to it? If you are doing it strictly for the love of music, thats great. More power to you. Just dont get defensive when love AND ambition overshadow that "love" that you have. I didnt make the rules. I am just adjusting to them. And adjusting very well.
Feel free to attack anything I have said in here. I welcome it. But after you attack me, Id like to listen to your REMIX in this contest. And would love to know what position you ended in.

CRSIDE  ...the ONLY JERSEY CITY REPRESENTATIVE IN THE TOP 100!!!!!!!!!!(17th place out of 1200 submissions in the Mariah Carey Remix Contest)

http://www.indabamusic.com/submissions?short_name=mariah

p.s.....click the indaba link to check out the top 100 submissions. There are some talented people that entered this contest. And to be honest, some of my favorite remixes were in the top 500's.  Designer Drugs is my  favorite in the top 10. Much love to them. "DD FOR PRESIDENT" LOL...Or ALEX!!!!........ Honorable mentions: Tassili Bond, Thelonius the Gemini, Spikey Jay, Milan , Terrel , Wilf (love this one), Classick Beats, Johnny Thomas (you are crazy man), david B, SNK, dj Dr Moore, Midas touch, Newton, ClubKid, Realvibes.tv, Nando Padoan, Kasey Phillips...so many were so great. I am happy to have been in a competition with this kind of talent.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........WHAT A CRAZY F*CKIN CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the mention! It was fun while it lasted, but I honestly don't think I'd want to do that again...at least not if that's the way the voting is going to be! It was ridiculous to see so many people appear in the top 10 literally out of nowhere! I'm glad I could at least be in the top 20, and to be the highest ranked female in the entire contest [it was close, since Nicole Purwin was right behind me...but I prevailed! LOL]. I'm just extremely glad it's over; now to get back to the real world and start focusing on my other work that I kinda put aside for the last 2 weeks...[not good!]

CRSide, cool blog. Seriously.. I think you CAN work for Diddy! I think a lot of people don't realize how hard the top 100/200 fought. I for sure used every minute of my life to promote. I didn't take it to the very max IE staying up for 3 days without sleep, but I pushed it as far as I could. I tried a number of different tactics. However, I think the myspace way was the most successful 4 people. I couldn;t really take advantage of that since I only started out with 275 friends. I once built a myspace with 5000 friends and it took me at least 6 weeks to build. I also flyered these ones across downtown Seattle. http://hammahouse.wordpress.com Probably the online promoting was more successful than that, but you gotta try it! Just because we were not on TV in some reality show, doesn't mean we are not more capable than a lot of the contestants in these kinda shows. so to finish off, you did a great job. You were propelling yourself straigth to the top 10 with hard labor as opposed to being lucky with a youtube vid that got propelled or something in that nature. I'll see u on Indaba, it's a nice hangout! Cheers, Wilf

Yeah man that was a wild contest. Definitely a heated battle. It's too bad that someone as talented as Clasick Beatz got left at 198 while some others who brought some truly sad sh*t to the table got a top 100 spot. That's not cool. There were so many entries that should have never been allowed into this contest (SHOUT OUT TO TIFFANY DOOM!). It was sad. There should have been some minimum standard of quality and musicianship to be allowed into it. I mean c'mon man, Tiff Doom in the 77 slot????!!!! Indaba should feel ashamed to have that garbage posted on the top page. They shouldn't even want to be associated with that. But you gotta hand it to people like Tiff. They wouldn't know rhythm if it drop kicked them in the throat but they can promote their asses off. And that's what this contest was really all about, promotion. Musical standards be damned.

Craig this was a promotion contest. If you slept more than 5 hours a day you had no shot. Plain and simple . Now I know what my uncle meant when he used to tell me "nothing comes to sleepers but a dream... and when you wake up, THAT'S GONE!!!!". And for those of you who busted your ass to gain position only to wake up to find you had lost ground I KNOW you can feel that! Words spoken true uncle Carl. I love you man.
