Who Gives Kudos:

March 15, 2008 - Saturday
From Scotland to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Boston...KLM versus NW airlines if yo like. Yes indeed...planes and automobiles. I have always loved sittin’ up there in the skydwellers temple. Surely adopted from my blood father who was a captain of airships for many years. I love the feeling i get of the craft being suspended from a piece of string and it is merely static while the air outwith rushes over the shape of the metal beast yo are carefully stored within. And so, i ate from the tiny boxes, drank from paper cup and watched mucho filmic delights.

To explain further... my trip came about through interactions within ’My Space’ itself...since my Helicopter Girl arrival to this wonderfully connective realm i have become bon amis with some sweet people. One of those being a captain/pilot from des americ, a.k.a Doublewide.

So...to continue... apres my arrival upon u.s.a soil, visa documents fully endorsed by kindly monsieur...my fingerprints taken and stored, i was wished away with the words of...’have a good day’...sweeeeet!
I arrived to the gate where i met Doublewide for the first time. Within seconds we had a smooth rapport which continued throughout my visit. We firstly attended my needs for a tabac...aaaaaaaah!
And so to automobile...and a smooth drive to his town of residence, where i was able to settle in, have a glass of vino and try out some of their best shrimp. YUM!
The next day a trip to Boston itself to meet with a kindly chef and his bride to be [friends of DW], who welcomed us into their home, where he cooked and we ate drank and were merry. A DnB show was in the plans for that night, however, after the cuisine delights etc, my bodyclock gave out and i unceremoniously fell asleep hehe......darnation to jet lag huh! By all accounts, facepainted/braveheart style dudes danced to rockin’ adventurous music, and strange stonelike taxi drivers existed whilst i snoozed... :)
The next day arrived to some welcome chilled convo, fantastic java and my real eye opening to being 3,000 miles away. Lunch beckoned soon enough where i remembered the art of american meals. BIG!... but delicious in tow...
Afterwards we waved goodbye and at this point i mus’ say a Big Thanks to Jason and Kate for their hospitality. Yo folks rule ya! I hope to meet with yo both again. :0)
The auto purred its way back whilst chat and listen to all sorts of eclectic music played out from the stereo, Doublewide having a large collection of the sound system in his bag from times as DJ in the south.
We were hoping that the weather would behave itself enough to allow me a flight in his skycraft. So far it had been either unsuitable or there had been something else to do, but now we were focused upon this fact, there being only a day or so left before my return. I have to say they do get their share of ’the big chill’ over there bein so close to Canada, but the wilderness does hold an attraction for me...can be very beautiful...sun shinin down....very similar to the Scots ’scape...and i bummed up on the tv prog about Alaskan haulage drivers before i went..ha!..jus so i was clued in. Ya don’ wanna be unprepared do yo.....hmmmmm.
The next 24hours flew by, including film of wooly mammoths and a trip to a pool hall, where i have to say in my defence my pool opponent must have fixed it... :0) or there was some magical twist in his cue...otherwise...how could i have lost huh? couldn’t be that he was infact a miracle worker or a better player could it...nooooo waaaaay i jest!
Another eve of excellent company and i arrived to my day of return with mucho happy storage in my memory bank to be future remembered. We found that the winds were still in fact too high to fly, but i did make it into a beautiful Bluebird for photographic, which yo will find in my photo section under ’Helicopter U.S.A.’
A last auto trip plus 2 flights more and i am back on familiar ground...a dollar mo’ wealthy and a richer soul for my travels. I hope to return at a later date to experience that flight in the whirlybird.
Ryan...yo are a gentleman and a scholar. I surely look forward to returning the favor and showin yo the Best of Britain whenst passport sorted and you decide to take a trip across the pond to our merry land yo groooover!

Sweeeeets to all yo MySpace happy travellers out there. I hope yo find the blog as warming as i found the experience.
have a smoooothie of a weekend!
HG. :0)
