There is a scripture that talks about being careful when meeting strangers, you may be entertaining angels unaware.

One Sunday morning, I was enroute to New Jersey, I was dreading the journey because to be honest I really didn't know where I was going, or the outcome of the meeting. The appointment was in Wayne, I hadn't been there before, I had pretty good instructions. I simply had to go to Port Authority and take a bus to Wayne and walk a few blocks. Why was I uneasy? I've travelled all over the world. I've been a stranger in many cities, and made friends. This was different, did I really want to commute if I got the Job? How long would the journey be after a performance? I was weary because I spent time with friends, my heart was heavy because the challenges of life were weighing heavily upon my shoulders.

I had to stop for a moment, how many times to we block our blessings with doubt, fear, and unbelief, creating  many barriors  and foreseeing as well as creating problems that haven't manifested into reality. To be honest I also had to miss a church service, and I was going to be a paid soloist, so there was money involved. I shook it off and went on to Port Authority. I was early, so there I was at gate 233 with about a thirty minute wait for my bus. A man wandered in, and smiled politety, we ended up talking about his luggage which he purchased at Macy's. He introduced himself, his name was Robert. We talked about the big sale and how much money he saved. He went on to tell me that he relocated to California, and was in town to be with his family. He was an actor, and did quiet a few commercials. So of course as a performer I talked about myself. I mentioned that I'm a singer, and going out to audition for a musical. After a while he started to talk about the many blessings in his life, and how God had blessed him with good health. He started quoting scriptures, and offered to pray with me. We held hands and he began to pray. I was so moved and felt a wonderful spiritual presence. People were starting to file in and some were watching us as he continued to bless me. We embraced, the bus arrived and we started to board, he asked the driver about his stop, and he was told that he had to take the next bus. I thanked him, and went on my way.

He was an angel to me, heaven sent to ease my doubts, and uplift me, I gave thanks silently as I waved to him. It wasn't about our riding together, it was the moment we shared in prayer and meditation. I'll never forget Robert, the day I dreaded turned out to be  glorious. The people I met were very kind and positive; they offered me the job.

I could have ignored Robert, and quietly waited for the bus to arrive, and would've missed an experience that still blesses me to this day. I needed that word from God, I didn't miss worshipping in church, and in being kind to this sweet person I was quite aware that I was in the company of an angel, to remind me that God is truly in the blessing business.

An Angel named Robert, I like that. It sounds like you have a wonderful life.
God’s Blessings, my friend.

Yes it is interesting that his name is Robert, I thought you'd like that. He truly was heaven sent. Thanks so much for your comment, it really blessed me. I'm so happy to have you as a friend. You're right, I have a life filled with music, joy, and peace, and wonderful memories. I've been very blessed to be able to sing, travel, and share my gift. I'm very thankful and humbled by what I've seen, and done over the years, and how good God has been to me. I've met wonderful people, some are icons in the industry that I've had the pleasure to meet and work with like: Allen Ginsberg, Sidney Lumet, James Michener, dear Luciano Pavarotti, Denzel Washington, Chris Rock, Cloris Leachman, Philip Glass, James Levine, the list goes on. I hope that you will always be exceedingly, and abundantly blessed by God's love, grace and mercy. Have a great weekend. Love, Linda

I love those times when we meet angels. If you're spiritually fine tuned, you'll know when they come. Mine was Celeste in Atlanta, a nurse who came out of no where to help a friend of mine in ICU who had damage to heart, lung and liver. I prayed on bended knee for healing and wellness.
On the next day after my prayer, no one in the nursing unit knew a "Celeste". But my friend did recover and every nurse in the unit was stunned.
I never forgot Celeste.

Thanks Cornelius; I recall my friend Anne telling me about the evening she was driving along the interborough years ago, and on one of the many tight curves she lost control and slammed into the guardrail. A man came to her aide, she remembered his hair was white, he had a very soothing voice; he waited with her until the ambulance arrived. He asked if he could escort her to the hospital, his friend would follow in his car. She whispered yes, and he held her hand all the way. She vaguely heard him pray. After filling out the paperwork, she turned to thank him, but he was nowhere in sight. nobody saw him leave. She said I know that he was an angel sent to comfort me, pray over me, and keep me company. Amazing! Thanks for your comments and support. I'll look up the book you mentioned as well. Have a blessed weekend. Love, Linda

Dear Linda,

Not only do I find your story uplifting and inspirational, I couldn't agree with you more. I am a firm believer in the Lord, the afterlife and in angels. Yes, they are indeed everywhere, and in spirit all around you too.
Our blessings come from our innate connection to the spirit world who guide us into all of our opportunities. I have learned to grab every single opportunity that comes my way. I have been shown many supernatural occurrences in the last three years. Doors are open which give us access to our Divine connection but we must seize them when they appear.

Your angel was truly an angel and not just in the word. You were guided and subconsciously told to let the stranger into your life--even if it was just for that brief encounter. And that is how our Lord works. Always there, if you'll let Him in.

Valentine's angel

You know we tend to be too busy to talk to people now, and we need to step back and take a moment to bless someone elses life instead of living for ourselves. Case in point - in an episode of NYPD Blue one of the main characters ( Sipowitz ) son was shot and killed in a hold up of a diner the day before he was supposed to go in the police academy. Sipowitz of course was having dreams about his son daily, being that the two had reunited after many years. But in his dreams there was always an old man trying to talk to him as he was trying to talk to his son. After many attempts to get away from the old man Sipowitz blows up at him and in not a nice way tells the old man to get lost. When sipowitz finally starts talking to his son in the dream he asks his son if there is anyone he can talk to to give him a second chance at life. His boss maybe ( meaning God I guess ). And his son said you were just talking to him.

Now to me this means you never know who you are talking to, or who may be able to help you. Or may just enlighten your life a little. So just be aware. Enjoy Life!!!!!!

Thanks Vernon for taking the time to view this special entry. The response has been amazing. I remember that episode you mentioned. You know the very first time I saw Creflo, he was talking about the evidence of angels, that's when I heard the scripture for the first time "be careful when you meet strangers, you may be entertaining angels unaware". I began watching the entire series. God's love knows no limits, we are truly placed in the company of blessed spirits to help, and bless us. That's one reason why I feel we've been friends for so long. I often tell my colleagues about you, saying that you are my friend and mentor; as well as a fine talent who dares to be a blessing in our fiercely competitive industry. Blessings always! Thanks again for stopping by. Love, Linda

Well, well, well! Thanks for the comment and message or I would've missed this one and it feels to me that your blog is my personal angel! I went looking to make sure I had subscribed to your blog and when I saw I was I went looking for your most recent and couldn't find it. Looks like I'm going to have to pare down fro the 71 subscriptions.

To be fair to me, in the move I wasn't blog reading and when I finally settled in I had a mess of "unreads" and I'm still wading through. Glad I didn't miss this one though! Thanks for the word of upliftment.

Did you know that Robert means "bright star"?

Once again you've blessed me with your positive comment. Thank you so much. I didn't know Robert means "bright star", wow that's pretty cool, I know a few guys by that name, and I wonder how many actually are aware of that. I haven't entered my new piece on Faith yet. Like you I've been busy, so hopefully I'll get to it later in the week. Have a good, and productive day! Blessings always, and in all ways
