Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, January 21, 2008
Hey all,

2007 was a fun and busy year for me. I am and have been grateful for all of the cool, musical opportunities that I've had the pleasure to be a part of. There are so many wonderfully talented and creative people in Los Angeles and I feel greatly stimulated in this environment.

A quick update in a large nut shell....
Last year I recorded drums with three different CBS Record's artists (Producer- Guy Erez). Will Dailey, PJ Olsson whose record 'American Scream' is out now and Karmina whose record 'The Kiss' will be released in April '08. Their songs are being played on some of CBS television's biggest shows. I also recorded a track for the CBS Christmas Special '9th Annual, A Home for the holidays with Sheryl Crow', which aired December 21st, 2007.
I recorded with Donna Delory (Madonna's long time back up singer, since '87) and her new record will be released in Feb. '08. I played some live shows with her in '07 with an amazing session cellist by the name of Cameron Stone and an ever so funky bass player, Mark Gorman. We will be playing many more shows in 2008.
The artist, Mandi Perkins who I recorded with in '07 has just been signed to Sony/BMG and the label want to use the song I recorded with her, 'Why Pretend' as the first single. The record will be released in August '08.
Last year, I tracked drums on the title song for a new Steve McQueen documentary and recorded drum samples for PBS's 'Curious George' the cartoons. I have also been busy recording drum cues for the Independent Film Network's comedy, 'The Whitest Kids You Know'.
Manda Mosher's new CD will be released next month. This record is a gem and Manda really shines on it. We tracked it at the 'House of Blues' studios up in the hills. We really captured some special moments of music and I was happy to be involved with the recording of her songs.
I have been in pre-production with Adam Cohen (Leonard Cohen's son) for an 'Adam sings Leonard' record. We will be recording our new versions soon.
I will also be recording some new songs over the next few months with my good friend Jimmy McGorman (Musical Director for Avril Lavigne) He is singin' and playin' his ass off these days so I'm looking forward to beginning the process with him and the boys soon. I also played drums for Avril Lavigne and her band last week. They got together just for a day. Avril's drummer, Rodney Howard was in N.Y. so I was asked to come in and sub for him. The band is rockin' so keep an eye open for them out and about this year.
More live shows with 'BROTHER' this year too, including the 'Roxy' on March 15th and the infamous, 'Masquerade Ball' held every year at the Henry Fonda theater in July. Always a wild and crazy night out......

That's it for now.

Have a wonderful 2008.
