About 9 months ago, my wife gave birth to a precious baby boy! 8 pounds 10 ounces. We named him Joshua David. He is such a delight. When he was just a brand new infant I would often find myself captivated by a complete onslaught of adoration and simply gaze into his precious little beady eyes for what seemed like hours. At times, he would notice me and become cross-eyed in his attempt to focus his little eyes on me. It just melted my heart to smithereens!

The more my heart was smitten by him the more I began to realize God's heart for us. My Joshua, has done nothing to earn my love and affection aside from the fact that he is mine. He can not contribute to our house hold. In fact we must tend to his every need. Yet I love him more than words can describe! This is our Father's love toward us. We can never earn God's love. And in spite of our selves, He looks upon us with a love sick gaze, though we can not contribute to His majesty nor can we do any thing for Him that He can't. Amidst our weaknesses and shortcommings - He is smitten by our goofy cross-eyed gaze of worship.

What an Awesome God!
