I'm in a bit of an odd mood lately. I'm scattered, busier than I've ever been, pained, tired, broke as fuck, and really quite upbeat and optimistic.
By all accounts I should be stressed out, slightly depressed and more than a little hopeless. Certianly, I went through a little phase of that after SDCC, but it passed rather quickly into a sense of chaotic control that I'm rather enjoying.
Odd.
BetaPwned has taken a bit of a slide lately, but I'm learning as I go and I've every reason to believe I'll be back on track in no time.
A Better Way Merchandising Services has launched, and though the launch hasn't been without bumps (the automated template system, for example, turned out to be anything but automated - an error that didn't rear it's stupid head until there were acutal customers to inconvenience) I think we're off to a good start.
I went on a wonderful little "ghost hunt" with the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research group this last weekend at The Cave of the Winds. Mostly we found cold, damp, and muscle fatigue but I also renewed my faith that there are intelligent, rational people out there shining a light in the proverbial darkness and showing the boogey man for what he is - a dork in a rubber suit. Zoinks Shaggy, it's Old Man Whithers! Who'da thunk it.
I have recently taken a look at what I need to do on a weekly basis and it's occurred to me that I can do it... but literally every minute of my time needs to be scheduled out and any deviation from the schedule will result in at least a single failure. Somehow this makes me feel better. Again, odd.
On a more personal note - as I've gotten busier, Steven has gotten more social. Watching him prowl about like a hungry cat has gotten me all in a tizzy and I've been feeling incredibly sexual lately. Please feel free to take advantage of the window. Yes, I've allowed for sexual distraction in the schedule. *grins*
Currently in the works: Finishing the SwagJunkies.com site, finishing the SweetBabyRibs.com site, building the new BetaPwned.com site, making up button sets for NDK, making up bookmarks for NDK, making up prints for NDK, making up playing card sets for NDK, completing several pin-ups, working on the comics, completing orders, scripting Muse and Gate, working on binding contracts for ABW, completing orders for ABW, moving into the loft, moving my daugther into our old room... wow.... I'm tired. I'm doing other things as well, I've just suddenly lost the urge to display my masochism.
So... places I can be found:
Squidworks meetings - every second Sunday from 1:00pm through whenever we decide to leave Enchanted Grounds to the less perverse customers.
Denver Dr. Sketchies - every third Sunday at various locations, the best way to keep up is to friend them here on MySpace.
Nan Desu Kan - September 12th through the 14th at the DTC Marriott. I'll be either at the booth with the Squidworks gang or participating in some five-hours of programming.
24-Hour Comic Challenge - last year taught me nothing and I'll once agian be attempting the 24 pages in 24-hour feat. This year's challenge takes place on October 18th and we'll once again be invading Enchanted Grounds as our "studio".
MileHi Con - October 24th through the 26th at the DTC Marriott. You'll once again find me at the Squidworks booth
Virtually I can also be found weekly on the Webcomic Beacon Webcast, now hosted on the Rampage Network. http://webcomicbeacon.com
Christ. I need a nap.
Damn... it's not on the schedule. *sighs and laughs*
