Hello everyone,
Sorry I've been so shitty at updating, I've been busy.
This is what is going on:
1. The Destroyer Ep. I haven't announced it to anyone really, but the final free ep of my trilogy is finished and will be released for you to download and enjoy within the next few weeks. I'm just getting the album art done and maybe a little bit of mastering. It's interesting. I think it's more hopeful, shaky, and savage than The Plague, but it's much larger than The War. It also has really philosophical, and almost hopeful lyrics at times. Some of my favorite pieces i've ever written. It's an epic conclusion to the trilogy, I think. This is the tracklist:
1. You Are My Blood/Bones/Head
2. The Truth And The Stream
3. The Vault
4. The Destroyer pt. 1
5. The Destroyer pt. 2
2. It seems that my long awaited first full length "Everything Will Be Oklahoma" will be pushed back again to 2010, i'll keep you updated on that
3. A month or so ago I finished my second full length, "Plastic Mammoth Jesus" in my bedroom. I'm really proud of it, and i'm considering (after some finishing audio touches) releasing it for free download, technically making it my first full length. Either way, all of these things will get to you eventually. The "career" of being an independent songwriter has a lot of shit that comes with it, mostly financial, and that's why i've kinda gotten into the idea of free virtual releases and stuff like that. Although I would like to see my records all nicely packaged and stuff. Anyway, no matter what, I'll make sure you people hear all of these releases in one way or another. If you want to, haha. I'm sure there are one or two people that are actually pay attention. I hope so.
4. Continuing what I was saying before, about the free stuff, every time i write a new song (which is fairly frequently) I try to record a quick demo so i don't forget how to play it. These demos are usually privately emailed to one or two people that I think should hear them, but they otherwise just remain floating around my computer forever. I'm kind of considering releasing an occasional selection of my demos for you to download. This things are really rough, I scream alot, and you can hear a TV in the background, and I usually cough or fuck up lyrics and so on, but they're real raw and lo-fi-ey, so if you're into that kind of thing.
5. I'm playing in Oberlin, Ohio on Oct 28th. I'll be freezing my Floridian ass off and playing lots of new material and handing out free cds and such, so if you're in the area, you should come out.
6. Sorry for the painfully long blog, I had a lot to say.
Message if you have any questions or anything at all
