Well the last few weeks have seen progress!   My band with Paddy Connor and (occasionally) Kate Bain, Lime and Steel, has sparked into life with an upcoming gig at Akemi, Medlow bath.  I am excited about the sounds we are making because I have a love of mixing songs and tunes, and particularly following songs with tunes ala Planxty.  We are doing this a great deal but also playing tunes with two low whistles together (it works), mixing in bluegrass sounds etc etc.  Diversity is the key.  A CD is already on the way - I hope it is ready well before the end of the year.

And in other news, 'Patyegorang', 'Whisper the Rebel Songs' and 'Mt Isa Mine' have been shortlisted in the ASA Australian Songwriting Contest.  I find out in a few weeks whether they make it to the final 10...
