How are ye all in Fuchsialand?
We hope this finds you well and warm wherever you are.  It has been quiet over the last few months in Fuchsialand but the work has not stopped one bit. After refinancing the State budget and looking to the IMF we have been able to put out a Newsletter to the world once more.

There has been a reshuffle in the cabinet and some of the Ministerial posts have been combined while all cabinet members have lost retyrement benefits
due to lack of Revenue expected from the States Sock market, causes for this have been confirmed to be Flip flopping and climate change.
The new posts are as follows

Heavy D– Taoiseach

Brian McGillicuddy - Minister for the Arts, Lotto and The Fishes.

NEW ALBUM ON THE BURNER!
Over the past three years we have been working, thinking, procrastinating on a new CD and this month it all got started. The working title at the moment for the album is, “Nearly there lads”
All will be revealed soon. Let’s all hope that it will be ready for the Summer US tour.

PHOTOS FOR ALBUM COVER
We are currently working feverishly on a new album cover and would like your involvement. If you have any good and good quality band photos, photos of one band member or some are also excepted, not all have to be of performance. Send all your entries to Photos@thefuchsiaband.com
A few will be chosen for the cover and each photographer of a winner photo will be given a free CD.  

CÉILÍ BAND COMPETITION!!
This May The Cork County Céilí Band Competition is destined to be hard hitting and Riot Police will be on hand as the results are to be delivered. A Céilí band must consist of a piano player or drum or both. Other acceptable instruments are: flute, tin whistle, fiddle, viola, cello, double bass, all accordions/melodeons, uileann pipes, harmonica, bass, snare and cymbal drums, concertina, banjo, piano, saxophone, clarinet, oboe and trumpet. Bands are expected to be evenly balanced and blended in their instrumentation. To be eligible to compete a céilí band must have a minimum of 8 members and a maximum of 10.
Our own Eoin and Brian will be competing in part with the Ballincollig Comhaltas Branch while Carrigaline’s Michael Heffernan will go head to head, against the duo, joining Douglas Comhaltas......the day or reckoning is May 10th. Watch this space.

We are looking for ideas for a new Fuchsia Shirt. For those of you who were good enough to get one of the previous editions what would you like as the new one? Colour or color? Shape? Design? Wording? If you have been biting at the bit for years to tell us what it is you have been thinking about then here is your chance.

For some of the lucky following, mostly in America, the sight of Máirtín paired up with the Legendary ‘Voice of Cork’ Jimmy Crowley playing an secret venues here and there over the past two years. They are now collectively known as, wait for it....Captain Mackey’s Goatskin and Stringband.
