Another Jet Set Satellite
NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
T'was the night before Christmas, the fans full of glee,
Jet Set Satellite announced two new volumes, you see;
Though End Of An Era is still fresh and new,
To hear there is more, what next will they do!
They had quite a year, those boys of Jet Set,
Not always so smooth, on that you can bet!
The fans stormed a website called thesixtyone,
They bumped and they bumped and when they were done;
JSS hit the home page for most every track,
And spread 'round the world, to Japan and then back;
Then off to the coast, a video to shoot,
The cast, they were killer and scary to boot!
The single was Ladykiller, the first of the disc,
A behind-the-scene look took us right in the thick!
An injury happens, the shoot just begun!
A trip to the hospital and still it got done;
The e-mails were flying, trying to get it just right,
Jay and Bulldog busy mixing, staying up every night;
Problems, delays, that's nothing new,
But finally they nailed it, this much they knew!
The summer arrived, the album was done,
After all the hard work, it was time for some fun!
They packed up the bus, Saskatoon was the place,
To kick off the first show and give 'em a taste;
X-fest in Brandon, they're cookin' with gas,
Then back to the 'Peg, to prepare for a blast !
An intimate show at a secret location,
To say thanks to their fans for their dedication;
To top it all off, the show of the summer,
The moment we waited for since last December,
End Of An Era's released and every fan cheers,
It's fabulous! It's awesome! We all raise our beers!
Black.Heart.Burn hits the airwaves about the same time,
We tune in to power to hear it each time;
The summer is ending, time to finish this leg,
With a contest for Molson, they called Mega Keg.
The next show is classic, the Halloween Haunt,
It's on,! No it's off! The fans scream out their taunts!
The fans will not have it! Cancel the show?
Not a chance, not a one, won't accept it you know!
The show is fantastic, the costumes superb,
An unfortunate mishap parked the boys at the curb.
And now it is Christmas, it's cold and it's clear,
We sit by a fire with all those we hold dear;
We reflect on the year and the things that we've done,
We remember the shows and the music and fun;
The good times we shared with our friends, old and new,
We have Jet Set to thank for a lot of them, too!
Blueprint and Vegas, they never grow old,
Now End Of An Era is part of the fold;
And yet more is promised in the coming New Year,
More shows, more tracks, we can't wait to hear!
Rarities, treasures and tunes never heard,
We're anxious to hear them, we'll wait for the word;
Yes, it's been quite a year, '08 almost gone,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all, rock on!"
