Multi award-winning singer-songwriter, Jessica Paige, joins forces with her younger brother, Josh Romig and acclaimed troubadour Mick Young to open the Darebin Music Feast on Saturday September 5th at Northcote Town Hall with their show Songwriters’ Circle.
For anyone who likes beautiful songs and lyrics this show will be a real treat. Jessica and Mick have won many songwriting awards between them locally, nationally and internationally, and, although Josh is just starting out, he has already clocked up support gigs with musical luminaries Mark Seymour, Deborah Conway and Xavier Rudd.
The show starts off with the three talented musicians offering their original songs in a turn-taking circle format, a tradition popular in the US in folk clubs and festivals, followed by the second half of the show which will see some wonderful collaborations adding another dimension and perspective to the songs. Jessica will deliver her songs with a classical harpist, Joshua will be accompanied by a talented friend he has been co-writing with and Mick will have a double bassist adding a layer of rhythmic groove.
“Last year Josh and I did a show for the festival and it really was one of the year's highlights for me. Our show got the Audience Choice Award for the whole festival, so we were inspired to come back this year and do something a little more adventurous musically,” Jessica says.
