my profile seems quite dead - but there is some life behind the scenery!
2009 was not as hard as 2008, and that was good - because I needed time and energy to maintain and re-design the studio and stuff like that. Besides, I was able to spend some time outside the halls of the iguana - maintaining the engineer is an important thing as well...
Currently I am working on an acoustic re-design of the recording-room, I am almost done so far. My intention was to have more defined lower mids/bass, a more precise and punchy sound - but not too lifeless. It is usually easy to control the higher frequency range but the low end is difficult to get right. My room is constructed very well, so I always had a quite good sound, but I wanted it to be even better. So far it looks (sounds!) very promising, last week I was recording an album there and it seems that my modifications are working in the way I expected. There are still some corner-traps to be finished.
We are preparing for the upcoming Necrophagist Sessions (2010) as well, but I will not go into detail here. But I am quite sure that there is something coming which will rise the bar in death metal again.
I hope I will have the time to launch a new webpage some day, the page is already almost finished. Apart from that, I would like to create a large list of my references as well, and then that damn myspace-player also needs some food - those old songs which have been there for ages are cool,
but I have truckloads of other stuff as well, there is so much which should have been there since a long time, too.
