Hi folks.
Summer's here again and it seems that nothing ever
changes: no British tennis player has won Wimbledon for the 500th year
in a row, the slugs and snails are eating all the vegetables in my
garden as usual and of course, Dropkick's invite to play the T In The
Park Festival must have been lost in the post again. Oh well, never
mind. At least the weather has been reasonable so far...
In better
news, our new album is now finished and will be released on 12th
September with a special launch gig at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh.
There will also be some more gigs around Scotland in early September.
See
www.dropkickmusic.co.uk for all the dates. You can also listen to some of the new songs at
www.myspace.com/dropkickmusic.
Before that though, we've got a couple of gigs coming up in the next month or so. Here's the details:
Thu
16th July @ Dundee Rep Theatre - with The Hazey Janes, Riley Briggs
(Aberfeldy) and the Iain Macaulay Trio. Doors 7.30pm and tickets are
£8. See poster
here.
Sat 8th August @ The Market Bar, Inverness. 10pm. Free entry.
We've
also got a live radio session this month on BBC Radio Scotland's
Highland Cafe show. We'll be playing a few acoustic songs and providing
some poor quality chat between 1.15pm and 2pm on wed 22nd July.
Listeners in the north of Scotland can tune in on 92-95 FM
and
people elswhere in Scotland should be able to listen on 103-105 FM. The
show is also repeated nationwide on sunday afternoon (I think). Check www.bbc.co.uk/radioscotland for more information.OK,
that's just about enough for you all to take in. But before I go,
there's just time to tell you that a group of school children fron
Spain have made a music video for our song Back Door Key. It's actually
quite good I think and certainly much better than our own efforts...
See it here
