FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 18, 2007

TORONTO – It's a work-in-progress, but has already been called the largest scale Canadian short film under ACTRA jurisdiction – and you can catch a sneak peak of it . BondedPairs will be screened as part of An Evening of Mighty Brave Shorts, Thursday, June 21, at Camera, Toronto's premiere lounge and screening room. Written and directed by John Bertram (director of the original Degrassi Junior High), BondedPairs includes 58 speaking parts, 178 costume changes, twelve locations, and features an accomplished cast of seasoned performers, including Rosemary Dunsmore, Mag Ruffman, Dan Duran, and many (many!) more.

"Working with John Bertam and being a part of Bonded Pairs was a terrific experience for me," says Lisa Wegner, producer and owner of Mighty Brave Productions. "Between wonderful script he wrote and his industry connections, we were able to attract some unbelievable talent to this film."

BondedPairs is a media-mangling mockudrama, playfully answering the curious question: what if our genetic programming was taken over by television programming? The film weaves a tongue-in-cheek narrative around a series of comic, commercial-style vignettes.

The night will also include:

Chasing Aces- Donnie Mullins, director (7:48)
A mockumentary about three Riverview pilots obsessed with flying. The story unravels and egos collide as we follow these proud pilots around their beloved airbase.

Boundless - Donnie Mullins, Writer and director (9:48)
(created for Global TVs In the Can with JR Digs)
A heterosexual love story with a a dash of homosexuality and a little S & M. A young woman becomes overly concerned with her boyfriend's relationship with an elderly man. And after a series of calls disrupt their intimate moments, she demands to meet the man on the other side.
*This screening is dedicated to Dale McCarthy.

The Gospel of Phi – Donnie Mullins, director (21:15)
In pursuit of lost love a man finds himself training with one of self-helps least known gurus. In a desperate attempt to swing the love of his life back into his arms, he seeks the counsel of Phi, a life couch on the verge of giving up.
