Recorded on a 4 track over the course of 2007 at the PRINT studio and the various places he lived (I can think of 6), The Blacks: The Blacks Are Home is a sonic portrait of Jared himself: startling, humorous, soulful, ingenious, imperfect and beautiful. He was incredibly proud and excited about this music. Once while mixing it I had to kick him out of my apartment at 4am on a Wednesday despite his protests of "just one more time and I’ll go" which of course would be followed by "okay, just one more, I mean it..."

I’m happy that at the very least, the album was able to be completed at all let alone to be completed exactly how he would have wanted it.

Only 50 copies were made and after the memorial show we only have 20 left that are available by contacting Karen at spacearama@hotmail.com. Proceeds go to a scholarship in his name that is being set up by his family.
