After two years of searching for a singer, finding the right rhythm section and discovering an ever changing sound, TNHZ will be releasing it's first sneak peak of official material. We are all very excited to get these songs out into the world. The last two weeks have been a grueling, yet rewarding experience. Being an "independent" band as we are, and having zero financial backing (as of yet), we've completed a series of sessions to finish the E.P. Starting with an 8 pm to 4 am drum tracking session in Berkley at Expressions with our good friend, Jeremy, engineering and followed by a 3am to 8am vocal tracking session at this same location. Free studio time for the night owls who yearn to be productive on zero a dime, but with a different physical toll. All very exciting being mike's first time recording any demos with the band and Scott's first time ever tracking vocals in a studio. Barely making it out of Expressions with some rough tracks, Robbie and Scott layed down their bass and synth at the TNHZ loft on cole's mac. Later we had a quick midnight session at Alley Avenue with our good friend Ira to run some tracks through pre-amps. Still not quite done with vocals and no way to mix the demo, Cole and Scott borrowed a nice condenser mic and some monitor speakers from another good friend, JJ. Vocal harmonies/overdubs were then recorded in a walk-in closet over a couple hours. Next, cole tracked his baby grand piano with the condenser mic in his home creating a nice blend with the more electronic tones. Lastly, an over-all mix was conducted by the band over a day or so followed by a few days of fine tuning and constant tweaking by Cole. We have just sent the two tracks to our friend Kevin Pooler in Canada to be mastered and will get them back by the skin of our chins to release at Old Ironsides this friday; but before then we will still be burning our own final product on the hundreds of cds we have ordered with a design stamped on them by our "go to designer" Raoul Ortega. So after all this effort, this short "Fever" Teaser E.P. will be sold for a suggested price of $2, but we will let you pay what you deem fair. Love, TNHZ
