Current mood:A.O.K
I loved Seaseme Street, I've become friends with the show for a long time. I don't agree with David Suzuki, that the images were too quick. Everything about it has helped me up to this point in my life. I've learned that things can go out of control that you don't understand it, and that you should always question what goes on in your world. Everyone and everything isn't as they seem. And you should always look at things in detail. I loved it. It was a break from shitty reality, and for a kid it was ever friendly.
I think people are alot like that, and alot of the characters were infact Metaphors: Cookie Monster was showing How to deal with a compulsive desire, and how it was out of control. Ernie and Bert were two opposite personalities, but it showed how to get your point across to the other person who is not willing to take your views. Grover was the fool. The monsters were the ones who showed us that things that look scary can be really normal, an serve a purpose. Big things and small things were very important, the worm, Big Bird, and Snufolupogous, or however his name is is something that is big and tangible.
The jokester guy, that when you play pranks on someone, or affect people's lives can turn back on you and be just as funny. But be prepared to stand there and take it. The magician, was entertainment showing how you can make things happen.
The guy who was building the train, he was putting it together, slowly. And, as he was doing it I could see that the light of the train was getting closer and closer. He was having a hard time putting the pieces to fit. It had a huge impact on me. When he finally got it together, the train became real and was rushing by so close to the man that it nearly crushed him as it rushed by. That was a real piece of art. It had a meaning that what you create, might be so overwhelming that it becomes real and you better be ready for it, and get out of its way. Impressive things I've learned and am still considering till this day.
Seaseme Street, is forever a part of my life.
