Who Gives Kudos:

Tuesday, June 30, 2009
Today is the 1st anniversary of Mel's passing.
He wrote these words for us all in January 2008:

Take me to the forest
Lay me neath the trees
Say a little prayer
But dont get on your knees

Where the springs do flow
And where the fallow run
Shed no tears for Melville
Now mother natures son

Love Melville

With Love from Annette xx
Roger Williams

Amen to that.  God bless Mel Galley.

Annette,
Though you have never known me, I knew your husband well. Through his life of music he touched me with his spell.
He had a kind of magic gift that very few folk have, where he could play to raise the roof and be as loud as hell.
His gift with words and music fairly brought me to my knees, with thoughts of very happy days, watching him, with Trapeze.

I have a tiny web site with pictures that do tell, of pleasant little places that satisfy some well, the link within will take you to a place that you'll know, and will have seen young Mel at play.
Very pleasant memories of long ago, that seem like yesterday.

July 1st 2008 will always be in my memory as the day the world lost two people I knew, one was 60year old Mel - the other was a 17 year old lad...how terribly sad!

RIP Mel

With deepest Sympathy to Annette and family.

Clive.

Annette, Such beautiful words, from such a beautiful man.  What a true lyricist he was. What talent to compose music to these wonderful and spiritual ideas he had. No one has ever come close to moving me like Mel did. I miss him. Thank you for sharing this. It has made my day. All my best. Ray Anderson Dallas,Texas

Melington,

I walked with you through our countryside.
I shared your company everyday.
We enjoyed nature together.
You responded with unbelievable emotion and advice to my circumstances.
..You saved my life...
God bless you Mel see you Saturday. Hot dogs are on me.

A year on, I still play his music all the time and draw inspiration from it, as I have since the 70's. Annette, your sweet man left an incredible legacy to the world with his guitar, and I feel privileged to have seen him play, and come to know his music. thinking of you and your family. Kev Moore.

Simply beautiful , and thoughtful of him to write something to all of us at a time when his thoughts were beyond all worldly concerns . He always could touch a heart .

Never will forget when I got my first personal letter from Mel, communicated with him for a year and all of a sudden his messages stopped, didn't know he was so sick, never will forget him telling me how he laughed when I told him about having all of his 8 Track Tapes!! Sure was a friendly guy and one of my favorite performers of all time, I sure miss him, hope I get to see him someday. Barry
