As I'm sitting here watching our resident squirrel systematically burying monkey nuts and conkers all over our lawn, I felt inspired to write a blog.
It's that time of year again. I don't know why, but since MK first got together we seem to be at our most creative and productive as the summer gives way to autumn. Ideas form, seeds are sown and either gently nurtured or left to flourish on their own. Some of our best songs and greatest ideas have been conceived in the autumn, and it looks like that trend is set to continue.
Last night, us Keepers sat around a bonfire eating, drinking and reflecting, and also letting ideas flow. We're looking forward to the launch of 'Of This World'. It seems to have been a long time in the making, and in a way, we're already moving on again from where we were at the time the songs were written and recorded.
I personally am not one for questioning whys and wherefores, but we have missed our original launch date of 5th September, and as it all finally starts to come together, it seems there were several reasons why that had to be. It's difficult to believe that it was all recorded, pretty much done and dusted in April. One song has now made it onto the CD, which draws a line under everything the CD and the songs on it have meant to us, which wouldn't have happened if we'd rushed to get it out in September. And the new launch date of 6th December is a significant date which reflects some of our ethos. It seems it was certainly meant to be.
And, so we look forward to the prospect of continuing to forge new friendships, playing in new places, writing new songs and just keeping on keeping on.
