Sea of Tranquility / 4 Do you remember the huge and lasting impact that the likes of Slayer, Venom, Possessed, Sodom or Exodus created? Well Die Hard sure do! If old school, million miles an hour Thrash Metal is your bag, than prepare to be whisked back o the days where men dressed as demons, carried bones to make crosses, inverted obviously, and insisted on making devil horns from their hands and opening their mouths as wide as possible at every opportunity! What is more important is that Die Hard also have good memories when it comes to recreating the sound and impact that got the afore mentioned bands noticed in the first place. Marrying the speed of early Slayer and the more slightly more considered approach of Exodus, with Venom's organised chaos and you will get a good idea of where Die Hard are coming from. Hasse (guitar and vocals), Harry (Bass) and H-Kan (Drums) make an impressively tight assault, with pointed, sharp bursts of uncompromising, full on thrash metal of a variety which is most band's book, a thing of the past. What that does for Die Hard, is to allow their brand of heads down, mouths agape dugga-dugga-dugga-dah, sound surprisingly fresh and vital. Hasse's vocals are from the throat gargling school of Tom Araya, or Tom G Warrior, which for the style of onslaught on show is a perfect blend. Musically the trio never let the intensity drop, although they are astute enough to change gear speeds from time to time and keep things interesting. Agonia Records have put together a cool little retro package that fits like a nail studded leather wrist band around Die Hard's Bay Area inspired blitzkrieg and as a starting point Nihilistic Vision is quite an impressive statement. http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=8599

Teeth of the Divine
Now we’re talking! Die Hard’s Nihilistic Vision is
old school thrash metal with a swinging set of elephant balls and a death metal
attitude. Featuring members of Watain, the style owes as much
to early Slayer and Venom as it does to
Exodus or the Bay Area School, and it hits like a pair of brass knuckles to the chops.
In fact, consider an approach that takes Slayer and
Venom and mixes it with the battering ram attack of
Wolverine Blues era Entombed and the chainsaw riffing
of Exodus. The vocals are barked and enunciated in a manner reminiscent of both
Cronos and L.G. Petrov, giving the entire affair an added layer of steel. There
are even bits and pieces that vaguely remind of early
Sepultura, such as on “Bloody War,” one of several cuts that
are also quite catchy. Psychotic scream vocals on the frantic “Ride the Incubus”
is a nice change up, as are the lustful sounds of a lass being pained/pleasured
by a bestial sort. And if you can’t mosh to “Mercenaries of Hell” (one of the
tracks with a blatant Exodus chainsaw riff) then you’re either
paralyzed from the waist down or too old to be carrying on that way. In summary, Nihilistic Vision is a head crushing, smoke-billowing,
speedy locomotive of a thrash album that comes with some pretty darn memorable
songwriting. But it is the bad attitude and nasty disposition pouring out
through the speakers that really sets this one apart from your average thrash
album. Play it loud; it’s the only way. http://www.teethofthedivine.com/site/reviews/die-hard-nihilistic-vision/
Bleeding for metal 7.0 / 10

Sweden's Die Hard 's debut openly recognizes it's inspirations -- classic thrash
metal like Venom (who wrote the song "Die Hard", for which the band's name is
appropriated), Celtic Frost, Slayer, and Sodom. Which is good, because that
leaves comparisons and accusations far behind. As it is, "Nihilistic Vision" is
full of solid, fast, and fist-pumping old-school thrash, with little time for
any death or black metal accents, no sir. This is bold and strident thrash that
harkens back to the days when this was the most dangerous music around. "Bloody
War" is a gutteral assault of war-metal with multiple tempo changes that reminds
me of viking days somehow. "Fed To The Lions" boasts some scalding guitar chug
that could rival Slayer, even, and indeed sounds a lot like them. "Attack From
The Back" is almost punk, though heavier than that implies. And on a trivial
level, it seems these guys share a drummer with one of my favorite black metal
acts, Watain, so consider that a recommendation. Good, strong, and
faster-than-you classic thrash, Die Hard's "Nihilistic Vision" is a good,
fearsome kick to the nads. Hail! http://goatsend.blogspot.com/

Metal Psalter 4,5/5 Like Sodom, Possessed, Celtic Frost, Cliff Burton era Metallica, and old school Slayer? What about legendary thrashers Venom? If you’re into everything I just mentioned, you’ll die for Die Hard and their first full-length album, Nihilistic Vision.
This is what thrash is supposed to be. It’s fast, angry and abrasive. Oh yeah - and very, very evil. Hasse, Håkan (of Watain fame), and Harry have very expertly captured the spirit of Venom’s Black Metal, an album that essentially birthed an entire genre of music that has evolved differently from its original (reportedly satirical) roots. Die Hard’s Nihilistic Visions brings back warm fuzzy memories of the first time I ever heard Venom’s classic album, and I am pretty sure that this will eventually be placed along side it in the halls of music’s best and most memorable albums.
These Swedes prove they are masters of their craft, assaulting the world with their first offering. This album is so evil they dared to release it on October 31 - All Hallows Eve. An ominous release date for one of the most brutal albums I have heard this year. I think Satan would be proud.
Now, with tracks like “Bloody War,” “Nihilistic Vision,” “Ride the Incubus" (that latter of which successfully includes a cliché use of female vocals), and “Attack from the Black.” There is no confusing what Die Hard is about. Add to it that the fact their music’s aggressiveness backs up the names of the songs, and you have a winning album that is worthy of a very high rating and is quite possibly the best debut album of 2009.
Now, to be honest, I hate reviewing albums that I like from the get-go because it's hard, in my opinion, to review them fairly and give them a proper rating. This seems to be doubly so for Nihilistic Vision. During the time I was listening to the album, I could not find anything wrong with the album and am having a hard time not jumping up and trying to start a one-woman mosh pit in my kitchen. Rather silly, but the power from the album is that moving. I hope that I get to see these guys live soon. It would be a shame if they don’t tour in support of this album, spreading their mayhem across the planet.
This album kicked my ass; you should let it kick yours.

Hellhammer, Venom, Possessed, Celtic Frost and Sodom. The production is good, but still has that necrophilic edge.
The only thing that the guys of Die Hard want is to let us feel that black flame that there was, back in the 80’s and early 90’s, nothing more and nothing less. And I must say that they are rather on their way in the right direction."

Arrrggghhh!!! Polish Agonia records continue kill by sounds!!! This time I was tortured by Sweden DIE HARD, and shit, I never heard this band before, and I'm very glad I got this piece of madness! If you don't know this ....Sweden.... 's too, I'll tell you something… if there will come hell upon the earth, then soundtrack to that event will be definitely made by DIE HARD! Hell yeah, about music itself – no more no less but PUREST old-school necro nuclear thrash metal, made in really sick and destructive way. Music is highly inspired by old way school of thrash metal from the mighty '80-s, such like VENOM, HELLHAMMER, SLAYER and etc… This album is made on fast rhythms; with using of such pure massive and catching, straight-forward guitar riffs, dense and blasting drumming, tight rhythm-section and good devilish vocals! Again about rhythm-section and guitar' parts, I like a lot guitar work on this album, as they are truly cutting and like hellish vortex will smash your fucking ears if you'll listen to this CD as it should be – on max volume. Also, therein line-up musician from WATAIN (drummer)… No more to say, just be prepared for PUREST form of HELLISH THRASH METAL!!!! HELL COMES by DIE HARD! P.S. This album also release on VINYL!!!

Funeral March Zine
This is for the fans of thrash metal. Die Hard has now released their first full length after a demo and two EPs. I have not heard very much of their earlier material but I’m sure that it kicks ass if it is just half as good as Nihilistic Vision. On their myspace page it says: ”The goal was to play old-school thrash metal in the vain of Venom, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Sodom, Possessed...” and they sure have manage to create some good old school thrash w well worth mentioning next to those big names. So if you are into thrash metal with some blackened death influences this is a must have! From the first track to the last it is total slaughter. Every song is really good, it is high speed throughout the whole album and contains everything you can expect from a good thrash album; blasting drums, riffs that cuts your throat and exploding vocals. It is all like a fist in the face. The head that doesn’t bang to this is probably attached to a deaf person. Make sure to get this album now!

Retro 80's Black Thrash and Proto Black metal seems to be a big thing in ..Europe.. again. As with Die Hard they seem to worship at the alter or Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost and Venom. Not that changes for one moment they are a kick ass metallic force as this much is plainly clear. Where I find it amazing is that the vocalist sounds like a mix of Cronos and Mr Warrior. Let be honest too my friend the Extreme thrash flag is worn like a badge of honor with these madness. The songs fast, powerful , raw, hateful and full of all the elements that made this style 20 + yrs ago so forbidden and wrong but oh so right for us in the underground to hunt out via tape trading and hand made fanzines.... Agonia has hit the mark with this one Aces High!!!! http://azm-magazine.blogspot.com/2009/10/10262009-azm-reviews-part-2.html
