Darren Uyenoyama Wins at Pan American
Games 2006
In a last minute decision while in L.A., FnF trainer, Darren Uyenoyama, decided to enter the Pan American Games just weeks after winning the Grappler's Quest. The Pan American Games are a 3 day tournament held in Los Angeles. The event was held on April 7-9. This is an international tournament with participants coming from Brazil, Japan, the U.K., and Canada. It is the most prestigious gi tournament in the USA.
Darren defeated his first opponent, Sam Hess, from Gracie Barra with a rear naked choke in under 30 seconds. In his second match, Darren faced Simpson Go from Cobra Kai (the same person he defeated in Grappler's Quest.) This match went the distance. They continued to exchange positions throughout the round but Darren was able to stay one step ahead of Simpson and received the decision. Congratulations to Darren on an awesome win.
Darren is currently looking for sponsorship in order to provide traveling expenses for future events. Please contact jen@fightandfitness.com or call 415-519-3250 if interested.
