Current mood:covered
We never covered "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. That was another one of those Napster mislabels from back in the day. We don't know why people think it's actually us as they sound nothing like our lead singer and their production doesn't sound like Saki's work. You may be listening to The Insyderz or Ghoti Hook or maybe one of the 1000's of other bands that covered it. Although I've never heard The Insyderz version if they did in fact cover it. Maybe we should have covered that song.
Currently listening:
Ok Computer
By Radiohead
Release date: 01 July, 1997
Danny K

I miss you guys...when's Roper's next album?

...and who was listening to Radiohead?  I have that album...

the insyderz did cover it...

and ghotti hook did...

if other "fans" were to say that was you

it would have prolly been ghotti hook...

ghotti hook had your style more...

but alas...

no one can touch the great five iron...

LONG LIVE FIF!

blessings love and peace...

(p.s. OK COMPUTER! HUZZAH!)

I've had a pet theory that people who heard Plan B (which sounds kind of similar to Walkin' on Sunshine) would be programmed by the evil fileshare menace to *think* that they actually heard a cover of WoS and then proceed to post inexplicable FiveIron versions of a song that you guys never actually performed...

Well, maybe the second half of the theory is a *bit* far-fetched, but I think it's all entirely possible.

Yeah, the ska one on the internet is the Insyderz. It was the original cover song on their Fight of My Life album. But before the official release it was changed to "Just What I Needed" by the Cars.

I have an advance retail copy of that album and the released album. Different song orders, and different cover tunes.

I'm pretty sure the version of "Walking on Sunshine" that I've heard sounds absolutely nothing like Five Iron. My friend tried to tell me it was you...but I know Reece Roper's voice...That sounded nothing like Reece. Plus the fact that Five Iron Owns all other bands...and if I was the head of a major record label I would've signed Five Iron...the greatest band that ever hit their instruments.

The Insyderz version is NOT the version everyone is saying sounds like Reese Roper. I've heard the one people are talking about and it sounds pretty convincingly like Reese.

If I can find it somewhere I'll post a link to it.

It is probably Ghoti Hook that most people hear.  They use a horn section in the song and it sounds like a ska band...  But the voice is nothing like 5Fe... C'mon people!

Love me, say that you love me

It amazes me that ANYONE could mistake someone else's voice for the incomparable Reese Roper's voice.  Sigh.

And it also amazes me that Cradle of Filth has fans.  Sigh.

FIF did not have Ghoti Hooks style, nor the reverse. Ghoti Hook were a punk band and had no brass instruments.... and they also sound a heck of a lot diffirent

Did you guys learn you lesson. Just buy the CD when Five Iron was selling them at shows. If you missed out then you can buy them on ebay and those other online bidding deals. But FIF did cover "Sweet Talkin' Woman" which is a well done cover if you ask me. "You know i have all your albums."

i cant remember what album it was, but i bought it when it first came out, and YES it was the Insyderz, but for some reason, they pulled all the cds off the racks after it was released, and put the same album out, with out walking on sunshine, i dont know why they did that, but i did have the cd with walking on sun shine, someone stole it, but yes it was the Insyderz who did it, not five iron frenzy, and by the way, there remake was da bomb!
