Academia de Musica del Palacio de Mineria is proud to present a new Chamber Music Festival led by Grammy Award Nominee Violinist Philippe Quint.
The
Festival that takes place in Mexico City from February 13-15, 2009 will
present three programs of major chamber works by Haydn, Mozart and
Brahms.
This year's Festival currently titled ''Philippe Quint
and Friends'' will feature distinguished musicians including William
Wolfram (Piano), Boris Andrianov (Cello) and Maurycy Banaszek (Viola).
The
Festival will also give young promising musicians the opportunity to
study with its artists in a series of Master Classes. These sessions
form the core of an educational program that is a critical component of
the Festival’s mission. This year it wil offer four masterclasses from
each guest artist.
The masterclasses will take place at Sala Covarrubias on February 13th and 14th, 2009 between 1:30-3;30 pm.
The
concerts will take place in the intimate, historic Antiguo Palacio del
Arzobispado ( Friday 13th, 2009 at 7 :30 PM, Palacio de Mineria
(Saturday 14th, 2009 at 7:30 PM) and Sala Miguel Covarrubias ( Sunday
15th, 2009 at 12:00 PM).
The future aim of the festival is to:
1. Promote an intelligent appreciation of chamber music through performances, concerts, lectures, community programs and events. 2.
Provide educational opportunities relative to the appreciation of
chamber music for general public via seminars, lectures, discussions,
interactive programs, demonstrations and children's concerts.
3. Offer outreach programs relative to the appreciation of chamber
music for members of the community who are elderly, disabled or
otherwise disadvantaged. 4. Stimulate public support for
chamber music by giving the public an opportunity to hear performances
of the best selection of chamber works.
La Academia de Música
del Palacio de Minería se enorgullece de presentar el nuevo Festival de
Música de Cámara dirigido por el Nominado al Premio Grammy, el
Violinista Philippe Quint.
El festival se llevará a cabo en la
Ciudad de México del 13 al 15 de febrero del 2009 en donde se
presentarán tres programas de música de cámara de Haydn, Mozart y
Brahms. El Festival llamado “Philippe Quint y amigos” presentará a
distinguidos músicos como William Wolfram (piano), Boris Andrianov
(cello) y Maurycy Banaszek (viola).
El festival también dará
la oportunidad a jóvenes estudiantes de música la oportunidad de
estudiar con estos artistas a través de una serie de Clases
Magistrales. Estas sesiones conforman el eje principal y la misión del
Festival. Este año, se ofrecerán cuatro clases de cada artista.
Las clases se llevarán a cabo el 13 y 14 de febrero de 1:30 a 3:30 pm en la Sala Covarrubias del Centro Cultural Universitario.
Los
conciertos se realizarán en diferentes sedes: Antiguo Palacio del
Arzobispado (Viernes 13, 7:30 pm), Palacio de Minería (Sábado 14, 7:30
pm) y la Sala Miguel Covarrubias (Domingo 15, 12:00 pm).
El objetivo del festival es: • Promover la música de cámara a través de conciertos, clases, programas dirigidos a la comunidad y eventos.
•
Proveer oportunidades educativas relacionadas con la música de cámara
para el público en general a través de seminarios, clases, debates,
programas interactivos, demostraciones y conciertos para niños.
