Review By Ben Dorey, NOWTHEN SHFFIELD MAGAZINE PEACE IN THE PARK FESTIVAL 2009 The main stage was headlined by Mojo and the Beatniks. This long-standing Sheffield outfit are pretty much designed for such an event and pulled it off with aplomb. Heavy psyche...delic blues were complemented by, amongst other things, a didgeridoo, a harp and towering frontman Matt Critchley, whose frenzied presence helped build things up to such a level of intensity that the scene wouldn’t look out of place on a Woodstock documentary. A suitable end to a day that was massively successful despite the wet and cold. Special thanks must go to the organisers and volunteers who made the event happen, the South Yorkshire police for keeping things safe with a minimal presence and all those who came and donated money to Nomad and Village Aid.
