First for the horse. I post regular updates on Beau on Livejournal, so I won't repeat it all here. I will say, though, that he's come a long way in his training. He's reaching down and lifting his back so his trot is springy. And, although we had started cantering just to encounter problems, he's growing strong enough from longe work to pick up both leads for me now, but we're riding in the round pen when we canter until he's comfortable enough to stay on a circle both directions.

AND I just started Beau on allergy shots now. The first dose had no reaction. It'll take a few months to get him up to full strength doses every 30 days. I found out he's allergic to several grasses, several molds (including penicillium, so no penicillin when he's sick), and corn and mollasses and wool. Of all the triggers, those last three took me by surprise, and the penicillium discovery I was glad to know about before something happened. So, we're taking the hyposensitisation route and crossing our fingers it works to soothe his heaves.
