Current mood: blessed Category: Life
I have a few minutes to share briefly about what has been happening with me the last couple months, especially the last few weeks. God has allowed some major changes to take place...some I looked forward to, others I didn't. However, the Scriptures teach this:
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
At work, I was switched from weekend shift, where I worked for almost 18 months, to third shift Monday through Friday. This allows me to go to church on Sundays again, but in one sense I miss the 3 days on/4 days off schedule. I am grateful to Jesus I still have a job.
My wife moved to Kansas on May 7. Please keep us in prayer.
I recently switched churches after a midweek Bible class. If I heard correctly, and in this I do believe I did, the church in Baltimore City where I attended for over a year is apparently becoming shaky in terms of sound doctrine. I will explain more on sound doctrine in another blog, but it is safe to say I will continue to keep that church and their pastor in my prayers...they are wonderful people and I do not wish to see any of them fall prey to the enemy's deception. I am currently worshipping at another Apostolic church just down the street from where I live.
I have not been very active on my other page (CFCMI Information Center) simply because there has not been much activity going on in that place. No news=no updates. However, the blogs and information available will remain online as more people - past and present members, their families, military leaders, and community officials - learn more about this organization and its tainted legacy.
In the next few months, I will be transferring all of my old Bible studies from my Geocities page (which had been online since 1999) to this one. Geocities is being discontinued, and I archived all of my pages so I can review and transfer the information for future availability. The end of Geocities is not an internet hoax; Yahoo! announced earlier this year that, as part of streamilining its operations, it was ending its free webhosting service after almost 15 years. If anyone else reads this and has an account on Geocities, I recommend they download and archive their pages so none of their stuff will end up lost in cyberspace.
To my friends in Christ, keep the faith; to all my friends, be safe out there until we meet again.
God bless, John
