The Louisiana born, blues guitarist breaks out with the release of his debut E.P, Ebb and the Flow, which drops March 1, 2009. “My dad exposed me to the music and guitar players that inspired him to play,” Derek explains. “ This inspired me to do what I’m doing today, playing music.”
Recently Derek was featured on the South Dakota Public Broadcasting live music series, No Cover, No Minimum. The hour-long program aired highlights from his Rib Fest 2008 performance, which also included a studio interview. Other recent highlights are sharing the stage with Indigenous, South Dakota’s premier blues-rock acts, performing at area festivals such as Jazz Fest (2007) and The Great Aberdeen Pigout (2007 & 2008) as well as opening for Bernard Allison. Blending elements of Soul, Blues, Pop & Rock into his music, there’s no doubt that Derek Post is developing into a contending national artist.
