I was going to start out this blog entry with, "Well I've never made a blog entry on Myspace before...." But then I looked and saw that I had. My gift is not self-promotion.

But here I am to tell you about a new record. It's all original instrumental music with some of my favorite musicians: Critter, Matt Flinner, Byron House, Stuart Duncan, the Dusters, Tim O'brien and a few others. It's a dream come true to be working with these guys. We have been rehearsing the tunes as a band and then cutting live rhythm tracks. They all have a say in the arrangements and in turn the big aesthetic picture for the record, which is really what makes it happen. I'll try to post something in the next few weeks. The album will be out on Sugar Hill Records early next year.
