We played at Jukebox Jam on Friday and it was super good fun. It was Leo's 21st birthday and I bought him a black panther comb and a few different pomades. I always buy mine from an African hair dressers on the Walworth Road. The latest craze down the Elephant is for Nu Nile!
Alex has become so inspired by it that he's created a new night called Nu Nile Nite at Charlie's pub The Alma (in Crystal Palace). Alex is DJ-ing on Friday 23rd October and me and Cleo are DJ-ing this Friday. Alex's flyers are always really cool don't you think?
Now, Charlie had bought Leo a brand new washboard (his third one) and instead of being made of metal it was made of glass. I got a bit drunk on stage and smashed it against my head. And naturally it cracked. So Leo now needs another washboard. I had a headache in the morning and I thought of a song written by my mate Ed Tracy 'It Makes a Funny Story, But That's No Way to Live'.
Tonight me and Sam are playing (akoostickly) at South of the Border, Old Street (9pm). On Saturday we're playing Bethnal Green Working Men's Club.
