Post your thoughts here!

Did you like the opening act? Why or why not?

If you've seen the Pumpkins before, how does this show rate?

What are the songs you are really glad they played?

What are your thoughts on the mini acoustic set?

What songs (if any) do you feel were sorely missing from the setlist?

We all know Billy and Jimmy are great, what was your impression of the other musicians?

What did you think of the sound at Roy Wilkins?

Last, but not least- I want to update the site with info and pics of the new lineup particular to our show.  Send me a message if you've got pics or videos from the show.  One friend I was with got some decent pics and a couple songs on video.  I will get them up here asap.  However, my computer died the morning of the show!

I liked the opening act. Yeah, his voice did sound like Robert Smith - as the tall kid with the dark curly hair pointed out with his rude comments. But they were tight and had some great songwriting. It was a little predictable at times, but good.

Even though I've been a fan since Gish first came out, I was unable to make it to a show until 1996 - shortly after Jimmy had been kicked out. Grant Lee Buffalo opened and were pretty decent. The Pumpkins were good, but it was definitely missing something without Jimmy. So seeing BC/JC play together for the first time (I didn't check out Zwan) was great!

I liked the set overall. Frankly, I only listen to a few of the tracks off the new one- and am the same with Machina. My favorite stuff was up through Siamese Dream, but still really liked most of the material though Adore. So the fact that they played Rocket, Hummer, Cherub Rock and (of course) Today was awesome! Seeing Soma or Silverfuck live would have been great but the only tune I think was lacking from that album was Disarm. I'm disappointed that there was nothing from Gish, but oh well. At least they played Drown! Had they done Starla as well, I may have overlooked the fact that Gish was unrepresented.

The acoustic portion was very cool. 1979 holds up quite well unplugged and it was neat to see it's sister song, Perfect, played right after. To Sheila is by far my favorite track off of Adore, and I really like the version they played live.

The other musicians were pretty good. Some of the guitarist's leads fit right in. The female backing vocals and keyboard filled it out when appropriate. I still want to know why they didn't get Melissa Auf Der Mauer since D'arcy wasn't coming back.

The sound at Roy Wilkins wasn't that great- at least not on the heavy stuff. The bass guitar was not distinct at all and they had way too much rumble on the kick drum. But the vocals, most of the guitar leads and acoustic guitar sounded great.

The opening act wasn't a bad draw for the concert by any means, they were energitic and had some tight music, but their songwriting didn't impress me, and unfortanutely, I was unable to get my balls signed.

HUMMER was amazing to see live, Drown, To Sheila, and I also enjoyed the encore performance of Cherub Rock... but especially Hummer, it's my favorite Pumpkin song and this was my first chance to see it live

It was a great mix up for the show because there was no intermission or anything. The acoustic versions of 1979 and Perfect sounded great. I was also impressed Billy knew it was Golden Gophers :)

MUZZLE!!! Also I wouldn't have minded hearing Pug, and some Gish: In peticular Rhinoceros, I Am One, Snail, or Trisstessa

It's not the same without James..... but the new guitarist fits the part I guess. My main concern is not being able to hear Mayonnoise live ): Also, I would have voted for Melissa on bass, because at least I knew her, but the bass work was fine too.

At times I had a hard time picking out some of the bass-lines and chord progressions on songs like Bullet with Butterfly wings and Cherub Rock, but all in all I was happy with the sound.

I thought it was an awesome show overall. I saw them last month in toronto but this show was much better. I think they had a good choice of songs off the new album. It was really awesome that they played "home" from machinaII. The acoustic "perfect" was really good. I wish they would have played Disarm, Ava Adore, Shame, and the everlasting gaze. It would have been really awesome to hear Dross too. All in all I think it was a really good set list and a good show.

I was pleasantly surprised by The Bravery. The first two song blew me away but after that I started getting bored with them.

The only other time was Lollapolozza '94. That show was mainly Gish & Siamese so it was a very awesome setlist and the fact that it was outside at night makes that show a little bit better. This show was almost as good. I've never heard Superchrist before or Home.

It was great to hear Drown, Rocket, Bring the Light, Zero, To Sheila, and Hummer!

The guitar player reminded me of John Cusack.

I wish they would've played Muzzle, Soma, To Forgive, Pennies, Stars, and God.

I think the Bravery had a better mix but that might be cause I moved to back after them for fear of being crushed. The Bass was a little "muddy" and the keys were burried some but the vocals and toms were great.

Here are some awesome photos from the show http://www.flickr.com/photos/thesmashingpumpkins/page2/

I don't mind the Bravery, but didn't even know if there WAS an opening band until I saw their shirts being sold. Just wanted them to get off the stage - nothing personal against them (I like a song or two from them) but I'd waited 12+ years to see SP!

The Pumpkins themselves were amazing - Hummer was blistering, 1979/Perfect together was spine-chilling, and hearing Home was a great, unexpected bonus.

Only gripe - no Mayonaise. But I knew they hadn't played it yet this tour, so my hopes weren't up. I got about everything else I wanted though - 1979, Perfect, Hummer, and Cherub Rock, the song that made me a fan.
