"I refuse to accept the idea that man is mere flotsom and jetsom in the river of life, unable to influence the unfolding events which surround him. I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

CALL TO ACTION:  Join me and contact President Obama today to ask him to support HR-808 the U.S. Department of Peace Act and/or HR-1064 the Youth PROMISE Act. In my opinion, keeping these bills on his radar and visible, are critical.

U.S. Campaign for a Department of Peace

..I called the White House on Frida (for the first time in my life) and it was very cool. I am working on mailing a letter to President Obama asking him to create a U.S. Department of Peace. He reads 10 letters per day. So quite frankly, our odds are pretty good. He knows about the bill and has received it at least 16 times from meetings with staff in Chicago to the rallys in Florida. I personally handed it over to his people at the Miami Rally. When I pointed to the blue folder I was holding that said "Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace" he looked directly at it and gave me a serious yes nod. The next week, at the last South Florida rally, a volunteer asked him to treat creating a U.S. Department of Peace as a priority and he said " We're working on it. We're working on it."....We need to remind him and keep it on his radar. Now more than ever. See the photo above...
