Category: Music

About to leave LA again - playing the old game of songwriting the studio with a half open suitcase in the corner.  Being busy is good for any artist in a way - one's full attention is called upon - but it is not just attention that makes art.  It's inspiration.  We learn to compromise, and in the making of that compromise, our art is affected, hopefully for the better.  We tour to so we can meet more of you, fans friends, artists, musicians, but also and just as important, we tour for inspiration.

It was inspiring to be near the Presidio forest in San Francisco last month. One of our our favorite artists Andy Goldsworthy, did a HUGE sculpture called “Spire” using the trunks of fallen pine trees.  It's literally just a big column of tree trunks standing in the in the forest!  Man made, but some how perfect in nature.  As you look at it, it sort of tells you a story about the past and the future of this incredible forest... sounds weird, but it's one of those “you just have to see it” kind of things.
Nowadays with the music we are writing, and the live shows we play, this is our mission:  create sound that is man made, but perfect in nature.  See you out there.
