SUBCUT - "Contra fatos não há argumentos" CD RM 25 Brazilian grindcore warriors on their debut CD after many 7"s and splits. One of the most extreme noise in South-America this decade. They are from Presidenet Prudente city (near Sao Paulo). Old school grind, think Napalm, Rot and Agathocles, but with a own touch.
KVOTERINGEN - "BISTER PROGNOS" CD RM 25 First, and long waited, full length from Sweden's Kvoteringen comes challenging all that Neo Crust hype: no epic and worked out melodies or whatever those bands do nowadays, just the best and flawless in your face raw PUNK sound. Really smoking and memorable riffs mixed with vocals that hit us like bombs against economic politics and humanity’s earth destruction make this once Jallo’s (Totalitär, Meanwhile, etc.) and Larre’s (Millencollin, IRD) “project” unique and memorable.
GRITOS DE ALERTA / JESUS CRÖST - split EP RM 15 Brazilian punks GRITOS DE ALERTA return for a follow up to their great split with HERESIA and deliver the goods again with four tracks of brutal crust that borrows heavy from the DOOM school. I can see the dreadlock crusties swilling cider and whipping their ropey hair about in a chaotic dance of death until they pass out in a drunken stupor. JESUS CRÖST (from Holland) ravage the flip-side , blasting their way throught five tracks that makes me think of HERESY on an off night - decent enough, but something just isn't quite there. Great lyrics, though, critical of both the punk scene and the world outside of it.
HERESIA / ..GRITOS.. ..DE.. ALERTA split EP RM 15 Obscure and unknow Brazilian D-Beat band, playing 3 dragged, dirty and heavy songs, a mix of Discharge, Doom, Disclose and Motörhead.Rage old trash/hardcore from ....Brazil.... mixed with d-beat and crust influences, 2 vocals and 4 songs. Includes english lyrics translations for both band
THE KRUSHER 'baruch ashem' CD-r RM 10 The letters are all in Italian, we get started with "Apologia della violenza" (“Apology of the violence”), the intro is an attack against a protest (I guess), we listen to tear bombs, bullets and voices shouting, soon begins the theme, this is basically Grindcore with Crossover touches, the vocals of Tony Frenda are fast and visceral (indispensable requirement for a violent Core) but arrive per moments to guttural. Soon an exquisite riff follows, is the one in charge to open the theme "Your ascolti i Metallica" (“You listen to Metallica”), this is really Crossover!!! The lyric of this 1 minute song will be enough to make the fossil defenders of METALLICA upset: "Musicalmente corretto personalmente una merda! (“Musically correct, personally a shit!”), these bastards exude irreverence in all their rotten pores!
