On Prisons

1.    Prisons are fundamentally unjust  -  Imprisonment is a punishment that does not fit the crime and is therefore unjust.  The only three forms of punishment that God gave to be used by the government were RESTITUTION, CORPORAL PUNISHMENT and CAPITAL PUNISHMENT.  The just punishment for most crimes is flogging or restitution of the value of an item stolen/destroyed OR a combination of flogging and restitution.  Imprisonment is much like the crime of kidnapping which itself carries the just punishment of execution.

2.    Prison is an ineffective form of punishment that does not work  -  Roughly 2 out of 3 prisoners who are released from prison return to prison within a short period of time.  It's a demonstrable fact that prisons are not the "rehabilitation" or "correctional" facilities that they claim to be.  If you want a criminal to reform then one of the worst places you can put that criminal is with more criminals like him.  Punishments like flogging and restitution, on the other hand, do work.

3.    Prison harms innocent family members  -  When a husband is sent to prison it harms his spouse and children by taking away the major source of income that family uses to pay its bills and have a roof over their heads.  It is fundamentally unjust to punish innocent family members for the crime committed by one man.  Flogging and restitution do not ruin a person's career or make them lose their job and income that would result in their family suffering.

4.    Prison steals money from taxpayers  -  The large majority of prisons are funded by taxpayer money.  It costs more than $20,000 a year to feed, clothe, and take care of each prisoner.  Flogging costs next to $0 to bring about.  Execution costs @ $20 for a pile of stones to stone a convicted capital criminal with.  The amount of taxpayer money saved by abandoning prisons and using flogging, restitution and execution as punishment would be ginormous!

5.    Prison is college for criminals  -  Prisoners obtain the ability to collaborate with other prisoners and form criminal alliances to be used once released.  Giving criminals the chance to work with and learn from other criminals is extremely stupid.

you are profoundly stupid.
I personally know six individuals who have spent time in prison and all have said it changed their life for the better, and gave them a wake up call. A slap on the wrist won't prevent crime it will enhance it.

I suggest instead of complaining about our current government you come up with a better solution, because by this you are doing nothing.

You're a complete fool for referring to God's criminal justice system as being "profoundly stupid" don't you think? Because that is exactly what I am promoting - God's criminal justice system.

Everything I said is in line with God's criminal justice system which clearly states that punishment for crime must

1. BE SWIFT

2. FIT THE CRIME (BE A JUST PUNISHMENT)

3. PUNISH THE CRIMINAL AND NOT THE INNOCENT (i.e. FAMILY MEMBERS)

Who really cares if you know "6 people" who spent time in prison and claim that it changed their lives for the better? That's no reason to tell God to take His criminal justice system and shove it up His ass. Right?!

They probably would have done even better had they just been flogged and/or fined. They are part of the roughly 1/3 that do not return to prison soon after being released from prison. You are aware that there is a rate of recidivism that is close to 60% right? That alone is enough to show that prison is a form of punishment that DOES NOT WORK.

And are you aware that 1% of American adults are in prison? That's the highest percentage of pretty much any nation in the world! Get the details about it here.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/28/us/28cnd-prison.html

So, who are you gonna listen to and believe? Whose opinion carries more weight?

The opinion of 6 criminals you know? Or God's opinion?

When you refer to restitution and corporal punishment as "a slap on the wrist" you are insulting God who has directly revealed what the just punishment for crimes is. And when you say that God's just punishments "won't prevent crime it will enhance it" you are calling God a liar and claiming that the US criminal justice system is better than God's criminal justice system. God promises that when a nation enforces His just criminal code that it will be effective and reduce crime.

For many scriptural references that back up everything I just said read these.

GOD'S CRIMINAL CODE

God and the Death Penalty

In the past, in the present and in the future God is right and you are wrong. ALWAYS.

I will publicly debate anyone who claims that prisons are superior to God's revealed punishments of restitution, flogging (or a combination of the two) and execution.

And remember that God is not neutral when it comes to justice. God always wants justice and hates injustice.

im noticing a trend with your bulletins which is...you complain about everything.
take the time that you use for writing these complaints, and use that to actually do something not on myspace, because really...thats not helping anyone.

plus you're just reposting things other people have already said which leads me to believe you cant formulate your own beliefs.

lastly, i think you're a bigot.
do you really think anyone is going to care if you want to save some unborn babies or not if all you do is bitch about "heath ledger used cocaine" "homos are gross".

you just sound like a stupid whiny bitch.

being a person who does not share your religious views I must say you are spot on with this. Our prison system is little more than a cash sink and criminal factory. On top of that we have the highest incarceration percentage of any country in the world including China.
