Cousin Carson & I would take turns jumping into the street curbs and covering ourselves from the "imminent Hydrogen Bomb flash and fury", on the way home from school every day.

Yeah buddy. Got the teeth of freedom, supplies, and after years of demoralizing betrayals by those pledged to "honor and defend OUR Constitution & Laws"... I HAVE JUST ENOUGH "DON'T GIVE A FUCK" TO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHETHER I LIVE OR DIE.

Oh Boo-Hoo! No more Whoppers or Dominoes Delivery. No A/C, Walmart, Cable TV, or "dependable, trustworthy public servants".

Head for Area 24 (NOT 51!) of the Nevada Test Site! There are enough easily accessed, hardened structures left over from the Cold War of the 50's, 60's, & 70'S out there to easily shield "a few good men".

I know. Before the Area WENT HOT (with fuel rods from Westinghouse for the NERVA & KIWI Atomic Rocket Engines: well, I got a chance to really get to know all the END OF THE WORLD STRUCTURES, BUILDINGS, AND UNDERGROUND CITIES, that my old man helped to build. ALL NOW FORGOTTEN AS THE CURRENT CROP OF YOUNG PROPERTY MANAGING BUREAUCRATS WITH BECHTEL, "are totally UNAWARE OF and HAVE SHOWN NO INTEREST IN (no careers to be supported off the ancient but still serviceable Cold War structures out there)... ancient structures built so tough... TODAY'S "MANAGE BY DESTROYING THE PROPERTIES" bureaucrats--- COULD NOT BRING DOWN!

Last time I was out there on another nearby boondoggle research project, we were told we could scavenge whatever we wanted from monumental, re-inforced concrete buildings with names like EMAD (Engine Maintenance And Disassembly), RMAD (Reactor Maintenance And Disassembly), Test Stand A, Test Cells A, B, & C (D was blown to smithereens during a rods out test. Although the government denied it, my father when facing his death told me of the 2 scientists, and 1 technician THAT SIMPLY DISAPPEARED in that misadventure).

On one trip to EMAD I astonished my NTS Guide (a laborer with 30 years at the NTS) BY SHOWING HIM AROUND THE ENGINEERING CATACOMBS AND BLAST DOORS ABOVE & UNDERNEATH THE CHEOPS PYRAMID SIZED BIG BUILDING (glazed with an erie green tinted window glass 12 INCHES THICK!)!

Glover asked me, "How the hell do you know your way around this old place?!"

I replied, "I was here WHEN THEY BUILT IT."

An astonished Glover said, "But you would have had to have been..."

I finished Glover's sentence with, "... about 8 to 10 years-old. Yes. Before they went hot, my father (a carpenter with REECO) used to sometimes bring me out here to clean-up after him as a VERY YOUNG APPRENTICE."

Glover said, "The government doesn't allow kids on sites like this."
