Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, December 10, 2007
Unfortunately, we're headed home early.  Duane was injured at one of the shows,  and after two grueling weeks of pain ended up being sent home by a doctor for repairs (some minor but necessary surgery).  (And for everyone wondering why this page has been kind of dormant recently, now you know).  We'll be back out on the road as soon as possible.

Happy Holidays everyone.  Evolution Eve, we're bummed we won't be seeing you this trip (so close!).
nando

duane,
thanks again for toughing it out so i could see you.
get better, brother.

Hope you relax enough to feel better soon Duane! Ouch, 2 weeks without complaining, man, your health is more important than that! I know, I sound like a mom, but I come by it honestly! Hope you all have a happy holiday and enjoy the time to rest and get ready for another tour! We'll all be waiting patiently for ya'll! You are definitely worth the wait!

Two weeks of grueling pain? You're more stubborn about going to the doctor than I am. Get better, Duane.

Hey--this is Duane here--thanks for the kind words--what I thought was a simple groin pull turned out to be a hernia--it wasn't so bad at first, but it kept getting worse and worse and when I got it looked at it confirmed my fears---

so anyway, I'm very disappointed about not being able to finish the tour. Please go see Chemlab and Skeleton Key and we'll catch you somewhere down the line.

cheers,

dd

I'm sorry to hear about that Duane. I got to see you guys in New Orleans, and I'm thankful that you held out long enough to give us a great night.

Hope you make a great recovery.

AUSTIN RICKY! Lighting Up the Night Sky!!
Richard HArtman

Duane, Paul, Gary & Johny....

It's Ricky Hartman your official Austin cheerleader here! What a frickin drag Duane, sorry to hear about your setback. I met you guys in Austin, the big freak who was a friend of Paul's and your newest "biggest" fan. I took some good (and some not so good) pics during the show here in AUSTIN and have them posted on my page. Can't wait for you guys to get back out on the road, we'll see you again soon.

Duane, all my best to you and your recovery!! Paul and the rest of the guys, all the best to you as well....

RICKY

I was wondering what happened in atlanta. Skeleton Key was awesome and then they said Chemlab was up next and I was perplexed. Well, next time.

well, I'm all patched up and the doc says it looks exactly like it's supposed to look after two weeks, even though I think it looks like a patched inner tube and it hurts like hell. The doc says women handle pain better than men...they have to. Women have long painful lives and men have short violent ones. Doctor, philosopher...boy, I got my money's worth with this guy. Well, eventually I'll be able to walk upright again, and we'll get back out on the road. We're working on putting something together for Europe this spring, and Florida, we haven't forgotten you...or you Salt Lake City. Thanks for everyone's good wishes.

I honestly don't think it was any one thing--maybe just cumulative wear and tear. I do, however, think I'll be looking to somehow downsize or make my touring rig more modular and easy to shlep around. At least as long as I'm the one carrying it!
