FROM A WAY TOO 'TAKING MYSELF SERIOUS' BIO I WROTE:
Creative. It is the adjective most-used throughout Tim's school years. Although there were negative and positive connotations with that term connected to education and the learning process, creativity did turn out to be a huge blessing on Tim's life.
Tim Gilleand, or Timothy Michael (stage name), has been involved with the arts almost all his life, and began writing music at seven years old. Tim is now 26 years old, a graduate of Bethel College, has been happily married for 5 years, and has a 3-year old son.
Tim's solo ventures have produced over 20 CDs worth of music in the last 8 years. Tim began writing music at the age of 7, and recording shortly thereafter. Tim taught himself piano, guitar, and bass. Tim was classically trained in voice, and has performed with several singing/performing groups over the years. But Tim's creativity does not only belong to his own music...
"I'll bring you more than a song…", a line from the classic praise and worship song "The Heart of Worship" is the basis for Tim's band's name: MORE THAN SONG. Formed in 2003, Tim plays guitar and leads in the band consisting of Scott Hipsher (keyboards, percussion), Jeff Kamp (guitar, sax), and Brent Kattau (drums). More Than Song performs several times a year throughout the Northern Indiana area playing contemporary Christian music, praise & worship choruses, and original compositions.
Another outlet for Tim creatively is his pursuit of the visual arts through the area of video creation/editing. Tim, Andy, and David, otherwise known as THE GILLEAND BROTHERS create original independent film projects from start to finish – including script writing, filming, editing, effects, DVD creation and distribution. Their current project, EXTRAORDINARY, is a full-length original action/drama movie that they have spent all of 2005 meticulously producing.
"Hey, aren't you that guy who…", a common phrase heard by Tim throughout the area. Tim is also widely known from his days as a Michael Jackson impersonator. Tim performed for several years throughout the state mimicking every signature King of Pop slide and glide to perfection. During High School, as well as the MJ gigs Tim was also a part of the local band DRIVER PAUL, the part of the jester in the advanced choral group The Madrigals, and seen on stage in "Babes in Arms" and "A Christmas Carol" – where he met his future bride.
TMG Productions is Tim's own personal home audio & video studio. The studio is used to produce all of Tim's multimedia creations including personal CDs multi-tracked & recorded in the comfort of his own home. Tim has recorded four all-original CDs, the most recent of which was 2005's "Everything and Nothing all at Once". TMG Productions is also used to produce and distribute The Gilleand Brother movies and Tim's Internet designs including www.tmgproductions.net and www.extraordinarymovie.com, among many others.
Tim worked at Mishawaka Night School for the past five years, and can currently be seen as the weekly worship leader at Sonlight Fellowship Wesleyan Church in South Bend, Indiana . Dedication to God and family is the top two most important factors in Tim's pursuits. From one of Tim's most important songs – "Take over me, I'm not my own, rule over me, as for me and my house – we'll serve the Lord".
