ACOUSTICKLE...
Monday 8th June.
Downtown Clive and Hollywood Marv -
Tickle regulars Beswick & Lance are a combination of GREAT music and comedy genius. Sultry vocals, potent yet playful lyrics, sitars, 12-strings, didgeridoo, tabla, djembes... anything they get their hands on they play. And they do it well.
+ Louis Cypher (First Blood), Tom Grace (Ill Citizen) doing acoustic hip-hop alongside all the chaos. Two very talented and focused emcees with different styles, but both with capacity to engage audiences and make sense when they lay it down.
Danny Beswick -
I tell you, this man is a God.
Wordsmith, picking maestro, charming on-stage presence, funny as fuck personality, beautiful songs. People come back to Acoustickle just for Bez. I popped his acoustic playing cherry - and you would never know it, he plays better than those who've been on the circuit for years!
Jody Betts -
(Jimmy the Squirrel/Royal Gala/Weeble/Yoghurt Bombers)
His friends say he's a blessing to music, and he has no enemies, but if he did - he'd blow them all away with a voice and song writing skill like no other.
Liam O'Kane -
Ease my pain. Solo artist and Jimmy the Squirrel front man, Liam's set never fails to amaze people in the audience and gets him fans every time he plays. Former choir boy, his vocals are magnificent, his lyrics honest, and his riffs dangerously catchy. Recently interviewed on BBC radio with an LP out on Do the Dog Ska records.
Sam Wilson -
Also of Jimmy the Squirrel, Sam's been a hit on the acoustic scene in London and is making a comeback just for Nottingham. He has deep vocals with soothing tones, influenced by reggae but without the fake-accent. This is one cool character.
It's also a belated birthday piss-up for Sam!
Solomon Smith -
Another regular Tickle man, Solomon is a punk-folkster. Feisty, honest, potent word-play alongside anarchy-ridden riffs. He's been on the scene for years (apparent when most of my artists have already met, and loved, him).
This tickle Solomon will be celebrating his birthday!!
David Apple -
A pop-acoustic act with influence from Damien Rice, hiis melancholy lyrics work well with a crooning voice. David was a regular promoter for Jam nights in Spain!
Bainbo! Stefan John William Honkey Tonk Bainbridge to you! -
This man is another musical genius; multi-instrumentalist, in every band going, with a huge fan base that love him for his great skill and stage-presence.
This is the first time he'll be solo acoustic!!!
Dave Anderson -

Indie soul: think Radiohead, but less whiney with storytelling like Regina Spektor.
Gaz Rascal P & James from Royal Gala -
The Maze's Gaz plays guitar with James assisting by playing a chair.. not kidding... It started as a joke, all spawning from a jam session we had - the next day was Acoustickle, so I asked Gaz and James to just jam it out to open the night. They literally set the bar.
Now they're going to do a ONE-OFF, never to be seen again set. DO NOT MISS!
Monday 8th June
7.30pm
£3/£2 NUS
This has become a regular Monday mash-up with some of Nott's most talented artists - anyone who comes to Tickle always remarks how much they love it... I know it's biased but I think the night has some serious magic about it - the artists are enchanting, creative and insane. The decor is cute and odd (table cloths that 1970 threw up), bar is stocked with Belgian treats, enticing house doubles and real ale.
