Current mood: angry
On November 8th, Prize Fighter was asked to play a last minute opening set at WLU's pub, Wilf's. We played to a fairly small but rowdy crowd of conference attendees and had an absolute blast doing so.
However, the band that came on immediately after us, did not appreciate or respect the crowd. After being 'mooned' by a fairly drunk member of the audience, the other band's lead singer began to scream (into the mic) directed homophobic profanities at him. The things that were said are were so disgusting that they can't even be repeated.
There has already been some confusion with people thinking we were the ones who made these terrible comments. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.
In NO WAY does Prize Fighter condone what the other band said, we were JUST as offended (if not more) as everyone else in the room. We pride our selves in being open and accepting of all people, regardless of race, orientation, gender etc.
We would like to apologize to any of our friends/fans who came to see us and in turn were subjected to the hateful words spewed from the stage by the other band. Prize Fighter is in NOT affiliated to the other band in any way, we were simply asked by WLU to fill 40 minutes of the evening. It is safe to say that we will NEVER play with this band again.
Thank you for your understanding,
Prize Fighter
