So as you might have already seen in the multiple bulletins I posted (sorry about that but I was freakin' amped) Lost Board Productions tied for third place, with only a point seperating us from second, at UP's $16k Businaz Plan Competition.

Pretty rad and all, but what does that mean?? Well, first of all we get some needed funding. Not a bunch, maybe enough to buy some new lenses (a fisheye, polarizer and UV filter for sure) and a little left over to spend on the next competition. We also however gained a ton of experience and feedback with the whole format and, according to one of the judges, we "knocked the presentation portion out of the park," which, since we are in the business of entertainment, was what we had hoped to accomplish. Now it's just our business plan itself that needs more work, which will be relatively easy.

Enough with all the business bullshit though, when are we gonna get some solid kiting clips eh? SOON. The weather is turning fast in the Gorge, and yesterday the crew threw down a hienious cold water session (it is warming up though) out east at the Lyle Sandbar. Since everyone, inlcuding myself, had put in so much hard work leading up to saturday's presentations, I decided to leave the camera in the case and just enjoy the day. I also thought everyone would be a little too rusty from the winter hibernation for filming, but damn, I was definitely wrong on that! Guys were throwing down! Jeff was sticking blind judges in a DRYsuit better than he had all last season in boardies. Tucker was repping a good all around style with solid air and lots of unhooked madness, and even I was pleased with what I had retained from last season with a few kiteloops and an s-bend downloop. STOKED. Everyone is definitely ready to shoot the shit.

So what's coming up? Patience. We're talking to the right people, getting the positive feedback and keeping an eye on the weather. Although nothing is ever set in stone, I will throw out one hint, and you can throw it right back if you want...Slingshot.
