"Da Bomb" Brian James remained undefeated in singles competition in AAPW by defeating rookie Xavier Cage in the opener.
Travis Sawyer, son of the legendary Buzz Sawyer, had his hands full with newcomer Tommy Mercer. Mercer, who stands 6'4" and 260 lbs and appears to be chiseled from granite, gave Sawyer all he could handle and more. Mercer scored an impressive victory with his AAPW debut.
Joey O'Riley faced Carnage in the 3rd match. O"Riley had a few bright spots in the match, however, Carnage's over 100 pound size advantage was too much for O'Riley as Carnage defeated him with a neckbreaker in a matter of minutes.
Sean Vincent made his long awaited debut in AAPW to face fan favorite, Edmund "Livewire" McGuire. Vincent showed good technical skills but Livewire gained the upperhand quickly. "Bad Boy" Chris Thomas charged the ring and attacked Livewire. Both Thomas and Vincent double teamed Livewire until "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich appeared to even the match up. The match was now made into a tag team match. After a few minutes of explosive offense by the team of Rich and McGuire, Thomas and Vincent were able to isolate Rich from his corner and gain the advantage. Rich fought bravely but was not able to overcome the quick tags and double team tactics of his opponents. Rich was finally able to tag his partner and all four men ended up in the ring battling one another. Livewire was perched on the top turnbuckle preparing to deliver his signature leg drop onto Chris Thomas. However, Rich delivered a drop kick to Vincent, forcing him into the ropes which led to Livewire losing his balance and falling to the canvas. Thomas took advantage of the situation and pinned McGuire, putting his feet on the ropes for leverage. After the match, Rich and Livewire exchanged harsh words in the ring. Livewire exited the ringside area disgusted as Rich continued to apologize and explain the situation.
Chocolate Thunder took on "Playboy" Paul Rose in what many fans believed was the most entertaining of the evening. The match was very evenly contested as both competitors went back and forth with neither gaining the distinct advantage. "Playboy's" frustration got the better of him and he kicked Chocolate Thunder in the groin getting disqualified.
AAPW's newest fan favorite, Curly, received a golden opportunity as he faced AAPW heavyweight champion, Shawn Shultz for the title. Curly's unorthodox style frustrated the champ early in the match as he was made to look very foolish on several occasions. Shultz seemed to have enough of the silliness and attempted to give Curly a wrestling clinic. Curly, proved he has what it takes to be in the ring with the champion as he out muscled the champion on several occasions. Shultz's manager, Tony Luccasio appeared to be the X factor in the match as he distracted Curly late in the match giving Shultz and opening to deliver a DDT for the win.
The Money Makin' Jam Boys (K.C. Jackson & Mississippi Madman) lost the AAPW tag team titles in Dundas, IL. at an IWAP event on Friday 10/2/09 and were determined to get them back. The new champions, Old School Thunder (Ax Allwardt & "Thunderolt" Brandon Walker), entered the rings wearing the tag team titles to the surprize of most fans as the title change had not yet been announced either here or on the IWAP site. The match was closely contested with several near falls. Jackson electrified the crowd with his high flying offense throughout the match. As Jackson had Walker pinned, Allwardt struck Jackson on the back of the head with one of the title belts and rolled Walker on top of Jackson. Jackson was able to kick out at the last second! Madman entered the ring to aid his partner and began to impose his will on both opponents. Madman delivered a vicious spear to Allwardt allowing Jackson to come off the top turnbuckle for the pin and The Jam Boys regained their titles!
