Hi friends of Damn You!
Just a quick reminder that we're putting on something very special indeed on Saturday at THE ARTS ORGANISATION on Station St in Nottingham.
Here's the blurb: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=58467248985
In short, ZOMES is the solo music of one Asa Osborne, former guitarist in Lungfish and The Pupils. He released his debut solo album last year on the Holy Mountain label. Live, the band is expanded to a 3 piece to flesh out the sound. They create dense and fuzzy organ-based song cycles that have an almost devotional quality to them and that are deeply psychedelic whilst always remaining focused. Beautiful melodies rise out of the density until you're not even sure if they're actually playing them. Cosmic indeed, in the best sense of the term.
In addition there is THE HORSE LOOM, aka Steve Malley formerly of bands such as The Unit Ama, Crane, Kodiak and more. He really is one of the finest guitar players we've ever seen this side of Bert Jansch or Davy Graham and his solo songs are truly awesome.
Opening is KOGUMAZA from DY's own ranks. This is only their 2nd ever gig. They've been in bands such as Wolves Of Greece, Lords, Bob Tilton, Savoy Grand, Little Girl With Cherries and countless more.
This gig is taking place in the upstairs 'installation' room of the Arts Org so has a limited capacity. We are opening doors at 8 and the downstairs will be open even if we're running late upstairs with some technical hitch so don't worry about being stuck out in the cold if you get there early.
It's £5 on the door. You can bring your own booze but clear up after yourself eh? See you there.
