On Friday, November 28th, 2008, we officially released our debut album A Necessary Means.  Our CD Release party was December 12th, 2008 and it was a great time for those that attended.  We recorded the show and though Dave experienced some technical difficulties with his Amp that night, we are going to make it available for download on our website www.theawake.ca for those that are interested.  The exact release date for the Live show is not hammered out yet, but we are currently working on mixing it down, so it shouldn't be much longer.  We'll post the details when it's up and ready for download. 

We are very proud of our album and are happy to report that it can be bought in a variety of locations around St. John's and online.   In addition to being able to order a hard copy of our CD through our manufacturing company Indie Pool, you are able to download the album digitally as well.  You have the option of downloading individual tracks for $0.99/ea or $8.99 for the entire album, but please note, those prices are for digitally copies only.  The actual CD can be bought online as well (address is below) for $14.99/ea plus shipping and handling.  The shipping rates are determined by the method of shipment (ie. ground, air, etc).

Lots of interesting news coming up for the Awake including a showcase at the East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) in February as well as a possible feature on us on Roger's Cable show called Out of the Fog.  More details on that to come soon.  We had a showcase at the MusicNL Awards & Showcases weekend in Gander back in November which went over great.  We were also invited back on K-Rock's Under the Influence for the 2nd time back in November as well.
