So since I arrived in Israel a little over 2 months ago, I've managed to write 5 new tunes, which is really monumental. We're talking 5 songs that I'm not going to throw out... that kind of speed is not typical for me, so I hope you're sharing in the excitement I'm feeling.

I've posted one of them. It's called Old Country, and I'm particularly happy with the lyrics to the tune. I'm not much of a requited love song writer-- I think about 98% of the love that makes its way into the music i create is unrequited or long-lost. But this song is a diamond in the rough, a love song through and through. Although, it wouldn't really be me if it was all candies and flowers, right?

The idea is that the world is falling apart, but you make everything seem like it's getting better. I personally think that any woman would melt for that song to be about them... right?

I wrote another song that I haven't quite finished, but it's close, and when it's done I'll throw it up here. It's called "The Ghost of Alice Montague," and I'm really enjoying playing it and singing it. Having all of this time to really focus on the music that I write is allowing me to put extra consideration into what I want each song to be about, what the music and the words mean to me, and that's a great feeling... when you know you mean what you're singing...

The other three, "The Big Empty," "Colors," and an untitled-as-of-yet (40) are still in reworking phase, but I'm feeling really great about them. Everything's golden.
