Nothing against the people on the BBS but it's very irritating trying to 1) find information and 2) deal with all the rumours and misinformation!  So I figured I would try my best to counter some of the very common myths about Sims Life Stories on the BBS.

1)  "There is no build mode"
-->
There most certainly is a build mode.  It's in free-play.  Look at this picture ...

2)  "Cheats don't work"
-->
Cheats do not work in the guided story mode and for reasons that should be obvious.  The goals depend on certain conditions being present or absent...to change those conditions would screw with the guided mode pretty royally.  But the normal Sims 2 cheats DO work in free-play.  The picture below shows all of the cheats...

3) "You can't have any custom content"
-->
Sure you can!  Zoe here has some custom content.  Look below...

4) "It only has windowed mode" or "You can't resize the window"
--> Incorrect!  It has both windowed and full-screen modes.  It can be switched to full screen mode whenever you want (even in during the guided play).  Look at this picture ...

And wow look at all of those screen sizes...that must mean that I can't resize my window!!  Sheesh!!

5) "Edge scrolling won't work"
-->
Of course it won't work if you're in windowed mode.  This is also the case with TS2.  So this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

6)  "It's only for laptops"
-->
I'm currently playing it on my desktop.  I don't even own a laptop!  Many people even play TS2 on their laptops **gasps**

7) "It's for low-end computers that can't run TS2"
-->
Also incorrect.  Again, I'm playing it on my desktop...and my computer is not very low-end...

8)  "What is Sims 2: Life Stories?  I couldn't find any information about it!"
-->
First of all it's called Sims Life Stories.  It's a stand-alone game and the first in a series of three games.  These are NOT additions to TS2 nor and expansion of stuff pack for TS2.  It's completely stand-alone.  Second, there is all sorts of information out there about the game.  Allow me to get some links:
a) The Sims Stories Official Site
b) BBS Review by clarity251978
c) BBS Review by AspiredSim
d) BBS Review by PrincessrozeeS
e) BBS Search - Type "Sims Life Stories" or "Sims Stories"
f) BBS Post by me
g) JennTheSimmerGirl.com
h) SimsStoriesStuff Y-Group

9)  "It's for people who don't have any experience with the sims!"
-->
Yeah...that's just a horribly wrong statement.  If I were such a n00b, I wouldn't have a site that's been active for 18 months and consists of over 100 pages including dynamic content.  Visit JennTheSimmerGirl.com

10) "It's an expansion pack." or "You need The Sims 2 to run it."
-->
It's a stand-alone game and if you don't like that answer then let's try 'no you do not need TS2 to run it'.

11) "You can't take pictures."
--> You are correct...you've not seen any pictures at all in this post **uses the Force**

Way to go Jenn. I'm rather tired of repeating myself as well.  Further, it is even more frustrating that many people are answering questions at the BBS and don't even own the game, thus they continue to spout the same misinformation.

Yeah it is frustrating.  I don't know if you noticed but I was on the BBS at the time I wrote this up LOL....you can see it there in my task bar!

I'm hoping this weekend to jimmy-rig this post into a TS2 story to post it on the BBS with the pictures!  I doubt it will work but it will help.
