So this morning I'm fighting the good fight against MySpace styles and my husband is browsing through iTunes looking for some songs for his iPod. Generally the hubby and I have differing tastes in music. I like bands like Three Days Grace, Nickelback, Default (**throws the horns**) and he likes bands like Rush, Jethro Tull, System of a Down (**holds her ears**). All of the sudden I start hearing music that I like and I ask him why he's searching for my music. He's usually pretty good at making groaning noises whenever he hears Nickelback so I'm wondering what's up. He tells me about this Beta service that iTunes has out called Just For You. The premise is that iTunes remembers what you've searched for and suggests artists and songs you might like. Sorta like
Pandora!
Well this most certainly is entertaining to me. He must be browsing for bands that I like more than he claims I think...I mean would iTunes Just For You lie??!?! So I tease a bit...then I start hearing things like "Oh god, Three Days Grace!" to which I say "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" to naturally. Then it gave him Nickelback, Idle Sons, Seether and even Default!! HA HA HA HA HA HA! Take that Mr. Music snob!! So score one for the bands I like!!
Now you might have noticed that I mentioned something about "fighting the good fight against MySpace styles". That's really my nice way of saying how much I hate MySpace. MySpace is NOT good for people who know what they are doing. I work all day on web applications and so it's very frustrating to me to call up my MySpace profile in edit mode and find all of my #'s turned into "#". Do you know what that does to a style sheet? Yeah well apparently MySpace doesn't. **grumbles** I shouldn't have touched it to begin with...if it's not broke don't fix it right? Yeah but I thought it necessary to share this with people....
