Well, this year is kicking off with something for everyone and I'm doing my best to keep up with it all!

This Friday night will be a group class & practice party where we will be featuring a spotlight dance with Jennifer's students, Adam Feuer & Molly Thompson who will be tying the knot in just about a week and a half. Make sure you're here to cheer them on!
Saturday night the Columbus Northwest Fred Astaire Dance Studio will play host to The Embers, live oldies rock & roll band. This a band made for dancing by dancers! The cover is just $5 per person at the door. Band starts at 8pm and goes till 11pm.

Mr. Larry May has been busy lining up some terrific coaching opportunities for the Columbus Northwest students. First we'll be bringing in a man who need little introduction, the one and only Mr. Charlie Penatello . Unfortunately we will only have him available for one day of personal coaching next Friday February 29 ^th . However, he will be teaching a dance camp Saturday March 1 ^st here at the studio that is open to anyone that is interested in signing up. There will be 6 classes total consisting of 3 American Smooth sessions & 3 American Rhythm sessions. Classes start Saturday Morning: 9:30am Waltz 10:15am Tango 11:00am Fox Trot 11:45am -LUNCH BREAK- 12:30pm Mambo 1:15pm Bolero 2:00pm Cha Cha . The size of the classes will be limited and I know that there will be students coming from some of the other studios so please sign up soon!
Just one week after that, Saturday March 8 ^th , Mr. George Hendricks will be at our studio and is currently open for only 5 session. Mr. Hendricks is one of the foremost authorities on dance and for anyone looking to check out of dance levels is a MUST to take a coaching with.

Sunday March 9 ^th will be a small competition in Circleville, OH and if you are dancing at the Ohio Regional this is a great chance for you to get a test run with your dances. It is also a great chance to get your feet wet in a smaller competition if you have never done one before. Please see your instructor or myself to get your entries set!

Mr. Brian Cantrell managed to gather his students support and with little competition has claimed the title as your Teacher of the Week . Nice work Brian!

Next Monday's Social Class , will be the final class for Fox Trot, followed by Tuesday's Bronze Class on Rhythm Footwork .

The Fred Astaire Ohio Regional Ballroom Dance Competition is fast approaching and we are still looking for more of you to represent the Columbus Northwest Team! The deadline for entries is March 1 ^st which is only a week away. We need every age category and every level of dance experience represented so don't be shy. Whether you've been in it two weeks or two years, there is a place for you with our team. The Ohio Regional Competition will take place right here in Downtown Columbus, April 6 ^th 2008 at The Columbus Renaissance Hotel . ( www.renaissancecolumbus.com ) The Columbus Northwest Dance Studio will be hosting a special lunch reception at this event for all of our competitors, I reserved the largest hospitality suite in the hotel for the Columbus Northwest Team.
