We really enjoyed ourselves at the "Look Before You Leap" concert with fellow a cappella groups Some of the Parts (our hosts) and the Generics, from the University of Maryland. A large and acoustically lovely auditorium was filled to capacity, or so it looked to be from the stage, and all three groups performed well, with entertaining and varied sets. A big thank you to both groups. It was a delight to sing with you all and we hope we can do it again soon!
Last weekend we enjoyed a musical extravaganza at the East Coast A Cappella Summit. Hosted by CASA and produced by Jonathan Minkoff and Diana Priesler, the ECS is a weekend full of workshops and demos, a high school a cappella singing contest, and three concerts filled with some of the best a cappella entertainment to be seen and heard. It was an honor to share the stage with Cadence, Mauf, Vocaldente, Blue Jupiter and many others, and it was great to catch up with our friends Euphonism, Skyline, Cartoon Johnny and all the rest. Everyone’s performances were amazing and inspiring.
This weekend, a couple of days of rest for the Chromies. Though a few of us are off to enjoy ourselves and the lovely Springlike weather at the DC Shamrockfest. Carbon Leaf and Great Big Sea will both play tonight. Haven’t seen them since the rockin’ days of the Barenaked Ladies’ Ships and Dip cruise in January, and can’t wait to see them again.
