Here are some of my fave theme tunes when I was a kid, many moons ago - I still love the Robinson Crusoe theme and recently found a whole CD full of the music from this show. The Flashing Blade was probably my favourite dubbed show whilst the Double Deckers was just plain UK kids fun.
As Magpie that brought me to the attention of Kate Bush, her first TV appearance.
There are 18 excerpts on here, and you need around 15 minutes to view them all.

Follyfoot! That was brilliant! Really lovely Saturday evening stuff. Got the theme tune on vinyl somewhere... And why, oh why did l used to believe that those kids really did live on that bus? White Horses - aah, that was wonderful. Czech import I think...

I liked Catweazel, Worzel Gummidge... There were loads of "were you a Blue Peter kid or a Magpie kid?" conversations when I first went to uni - I seriously suspect my mum never told me we could get itv at one stage..  Remember Casey Jones?

Funnily enough almost posted Catweasle and Casey Jones along with Alias Smith and Jones. I watched Blue Peter but had a crush on the woman in Magpie (don't tell anyone)

wow... we had totally different stuff on this side of the pond.  Gilligan's Island, the Brady Bunch, and - of course, the Munsters.  there probably more "kid-like" programs - but, these are the ones i loved. 
that video you have of The Banana Splits looks familiar... it's cute :)  did you ever watch that program the Monkeys had?  i really liked it!!!  (and now - that tune is zipping through my head... hey-hey! we're the Monkeys...)
